Areas Repaired Wall / Ceiling Patching and Waterproofing, Crack Injection
Repair Types Polyforce Plus Patching with Basalt and Concrete, Fiberglass Coating, Polyforce Plus Crack Injection
Issues Active leaks, Concrete Delamination, Concrete Cracks

Project Description

The walls and the ceilling of the undergroug garage had cracks, active leaks and concrete delamination.

Patching

The delaminated concrete was removed and the concrete surface was cleaned.
Polyforce Plus was mixed with Basalt to a paste like consistency. The acquired patch was applied to all cavities. The surface was treated with a coat of Polyforce Plus. This application provides weather proofing.

Crack Repair

All cracks were cut with a ¼ inch saw. This ensures removal of all debris in the crack. Cracks were filled with a clear mixture of Polyforce Plus. The material is liquid and can simply be poured into the crack.

Crack Injection/Waterproofing

This project consisted of waterproofing wiht injection of PolyFlex into the joints. The process of injection of PolyFlex fills all the cavities of the expansion joints as well as voids.
PolyFlex does not react with water, which makes it ideal for waterproofing applications with actively running or standing water.
Upon injection, PolyFlex will displace and remove the water from all possible voids. This provides a long lasting waterproofing solution.

Technical Details

Facts:

According to third party testing, the repaired surfaces are rated to:

Polyforce Plus

  • 25 years of useful life
  • 0% water permeation
  • Polyforce Plus is rated to expand and contract with concrete
  • The entire surface and volume of the slab is "monolithic"
  • Compressive strength of 85 MPa
  • Polyforce Plus mixed with Basalt reaches a compressive strength of 150 MPa
  • Adhesive strength of 1.85 MPa (original concrete has only 1.2 MPa of a tensile strength, so the bond is stronger than the concrete itself)
Repair is 60% cost of a traditional repair

PolyFlex

  • Application of PolyFlex from the negative side reduces cost by 90% when compared to the traditional method of repair
  • 10 years of useful life
  • 0% water permeation
  • PolyFlex is able to expand and compress 200%
  • 200% expansion and compression does not affect adhesion or tensile strength of PolyFlex
