Description

Material Use:

CCS Coating, Epoxy Healer - Sealer is a solvent-free, ultra-low viscosity two-component epoxy resin system used topically on concrete to restore structural monolithic integrity. It is designed to penetrate porous or cracked concrete, protect internal reinforcement steel from corrosion, and reduce further spalling. It is also suitable as a primer in flooring and deck coating applications, especially over cracked and distressed areas.

System Components:

The product comprises two parts—Part A (epoxy resin) and Part B (hardener)—mixed in a 4:1 volume ratio. Once combined, it forms a high-strength hydrophobic polymer.

Applications:

Ideal for gravity filling of free cracks, reconsolidating distressed areas, and strengthening weak or porous concrete surfaces. It is particularly useful in urban or interior projects due to its low odor and high flash point. It also acts as a primer in systems involving further top coatings.

Application Details:

Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants. The mixed material should be applied by pouring and spreading with a squeegee, targeting a coverage of approximately 75 to 100 ft² per gallon. The material must be allowed to penetrate for 10 minutes, followed by redistribution of any excess. For enhanced surface finish, a sand broadcast (#20 mesh) is applied at 2 lb/yd² after 20 minutes. Tools and containers must be cleaned with acetone or epoxy stripper before the material cures.

Special Notes:

·         Primers and Coating System: Can serve as a primer for additional coating layers in flooring/deck systems.

·         Temperature Limitations: Minimum substrate/application temperature is 50°F. Do not apply above 120°F or on surfaces under hydrostatic pressure.

·         Humidity: Surfaces must be completely dry; moisture can inhibit penetration.

·         Pot Life: Approximately 20 minutes at 70°F.

·         Curing Time: Tack-free in under 400 minutes; thin film set in about 5.5 hours.

·         Full Cure: Full mechanical properties developed within 7 days at 73°F.

·         Thickness and Coverage: Designed for deep penetration via capillary action; no specified mil thickness since it’s a penetrant rather than a surface coating. Coverage is 75–100 ft²/gal.

·         UV Stability: Not specified; designed for structural repair and priming, not for exposed final surfaces.

·         Storage and Shelf Life: Three years in unopened containers when stored between 40°F and 90°F.
