Description
CCS Coating, General Purpose is a two-component, high-build epoxy floor and wall coating manufactured by ChemCo Systems.
This coating is designed for surfaces that require resistance to industrial chemicals, wear, and mechanical stress. It is suitable for concrete, steel, and wood surfaces in both pedestrian and vehicular traffic environments.
This is a two-part epoxy system with a mix ratio of 2:1 (Part A:Part B) by volume. Part A is a concrete beige-gray resin, and Part B is a clear amber hardener. When mixed, the product yields a concrete beige-gray finish. No primer is required for application.
CCS Coating, General Purpose is used in environments exposed to mild acids, bases, solvents, and automotive fluids. It is effective for floor and wall coatings in industrial, commercial, and transportation sectors. When seeded or blended with aggregate, it creates a slip-resistant surface.
Surfaces must be clean and sound with a minimum tensile strength of 250 psi for concrete. Concrete can be dry, damp, or wet (no free-standing water), but dry is preferred. Steel must be cleaned to "white metal" (SSPC SP 5). The coating is applied in two coats of 6–8 mils each for wall and floor coatings, or in thicker applications of 20–30 mils per coat for floor surfacing. Application methods include brushes, rollers, squeegees, or spray equipment. Aggregate must be broadcast within 15 minutes using #20x40 or #30x50 mesh, at a rate of 0.75–1.50 lb/sq ft.
· Pot Life: Approx. 35 minutes for a 200 g mix.
· Curing Times: Touch-dry in 6–7 hours at 70°F. Recoat window ranges from 2–72 hours depending on temperature (2–12 hrs @ 90°F, 4–24 hrs @ 73°F, 8–72 hrs @ 60°F).
· Full Cure: Approximately 7 days at 73°F.
· Temperature Limits: Minimum substrate temperature is 50°F for application and 40°F for curing.
· UV Resistance: Not UV stable; outdoor exposure leads to slight chalking though the coating does not embrittle.
· Thickness & Coverage: Coating thickness ranges from 6–8 mils per coat up to 30 mils per coat. Coverage is 105 sq ft/gal at 15 mils, 80 sq ft/gal at 20 mils, 64 sq ft/gal at 25 mils, 53 sq ft/gal at 30 mils, and 40 sq ft/gal at 40 mils.
· Storage: Shelf life of 3 years in unopened containers stored between 60–90°F, away from sunlight.
