Description
CCS Grout, Control Joint. This two-component, flexible, fast-curing epoxy grout is designed for filling control joints, wire slots, and saw cuts in concrete and asphalt. It is also suitable for embedding wire and traffic detection loops in pavements and for interior slab joints in industrial and warehouse floors. It complies with ACI 302.1R guidelines for floors and slabs and may also be used for bonding precast concrete curbing to concrete and asphalt surfaces.
The material is a two-part system mixed in a 1:1 volumetric ratio (resin:hardener). Part A is a gray or black liquid epoxy resin, and Part B is a clear amber hardener. The mixed material is either gray or black depending on the chosen base color.
It is used in static joints, especially in industrial flooring, asphalt/concrete interfaces, and locations requiring resistance to impact, abrasion, and exposure to automotive and aircraft chemicals. Not suitable for joints subject to movement or exterior exposure.
· Mixing: Mix Parts A and B in equal volume using a Jiffy mixer and low-speed drill (350–750 rpm) for 2–3 minutes.
· Installation: Apply into joints using a pour can with a spout; overfill slightly to allow trimming after cure.
· Yield:
o 1/2" x 1/4" joint: 154 linear feet/gallon
o 1" x 3/4" joint: 25 linear feet/gallon
· Cure Acceleration: Pre-warming components to 125°F can allow traffic reopening in as little as one hour.
· Environmental Limits: Installation and curing must occur at temperatures ≥40°F. Substrates must be dry.
· Pot Life and Cure: Gel time is approximately 15 minutes at room temperature (200 g mass).
· Chemical Resistance: Resists deicing agents, jet fuel, gasoline, hydraulic fluids, and antifreeze. Not suitable for continuous exposure to gasohol or heavy-duty brake fluids.
· Storage: Shelf life is three years minimum when stored between 60–90°F in original unopened containers.
· UV Stability: Not specified; not recommended for exterior joints.
· Viscosity: Approx. 4300 cP (mixed).
Flexibility: High elongation (90%) and tear resistance (110 lbf/in) ensure a tough, yet flexible cured material.
