Description

Material Use

CCS Grout, Polyurea SWL is a two-component, elastomeric polyurea binder used for joint filling, nosing, and spall repair on both interior and exterior industrial concrete floors. It is suitable for gravity filling of saw cuts, control joints, and non-structural cracks, and, when combined with aggregates, can be used to rebuild damaged joint nosings and repair spalled or deteriorated concrete surfaces.

System Components

·         Base Material: CCS Grout, Polyurea SWL (two-component mix of Part A and Part B at 1:1 volume ratio)

·         Primer: QuikPrime Primer is required for wet surface applications

·         Aggregate for Mortars: High silica sand (>85% SiO₂), preferably a 2:1 blend of #12 and #30 mesh or single fraction of #16/#20 mesh

·         Aggregate for Concretes: 1:1 blend of 3/8" gravel and #16 or #20 mesh sand

Applications

Used for:

·         Filling control joints and non-structural cracks

·         Rebuilding concrete joint nosing

·         Repairing spalls and deteriorated areas in concrete

·         Surfaces exposed to vehicle impact, abrasion, and chemicals (e.g., auto/aircraft fluids, deicers)

·         Freezer and refrigerator slabs due to its performance at low temperatures

Application Details

·         Priming: Not required on dry or slightly damp substrates; QuikPrime Primer required on wet surfaces (apply at 8–10 mils thickness; 160–200 sq ft/gal coverage)

·         Filling: Neat binder for shallow fill; mortar/concrete mixes for deeper repairs

·         Curing Schedule:

o        Gel time: ~12 minutes

o        Touch dry: ~15 minutes

o        Hard dry: ~50 minutes

·         Application Temperatures: Substrate must be at least -25 °F; ideally stored/used between 60–90 °F

·         Pot Life: Short work life—rapid curing material

·         Coverage: Approximately 160–200 sq ft/gal for primer; specific coverage for binder depends on depth and aggregate use

·         Thickness: When used with aggregates, ensure particle size does not exceed 1/3 of repair depth

·         Application Tools: Hand mix or 2-component 1:1 ratio metering pump; trowel, screed, or rod for placement

·         Installation Tips: Slightly overfill joints and level with razor after 1 hour; fill narrow/deep cuts in two stages

Special Notes

·         UV Stability: Not specified; assume not UV-stable unless otherwise stated

·         VOC Content: 0 g/L—environmentally safe and solvent-free

·         Surface Requirements: Must be free from bond-inhibiting materials; dry or damp only (not wet) unless primed

·         Safety Precautions: Both components contain hazardous chemicals; PPE required (gloves, goggles, ventilation)

·         Shelf Life: Minimum one year in original sealed containers stored between 60–90 °F and away from sunlight
