Description
COLPHENE HR SP is a waterproofing membrane composed of SBS modified bitumen and a composite reinforcement.
UNITS PER SKID: 30
Material Use:
COLPHENE FLAM HR and COLPHENE FLAM HR SP are high-performance waterproofing membranes designed for use in below-grade and horizontal or vertical concrete applications. These membranes are composed of SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) modified bitumen, reinforced with a composite mat, and are intended to provide long-lasting waterproofing protection for structures such as foundation walls and plaza decks.
System Components:
The system consists of either COLPHENE FLAM HR or COLPHENE FLAM HR SP membranes, depending on the required thickness and surface finish. Both membranes feature a thermofusible plastic film on the underside for heat-welded application. COLPHENE FLAM HR has a top surface of thermofusible plastic film, while COLPHENE FLAM HR SP has a sanded top surface. These membranes are typically used as part of a multi-layer waterproofing system over concrete substrates.
Applications:
These membranes are suitable for use in waterproofing systems for:
- Foundation walls (vertical applications)
- Plaza decks and other horizontal concrete surfaces
- Below-grade waterproofing systems
Application Details:
- Installation Method: Heat-welded using a propane torch.
- Substrate Requirements: Must be applied over cured concrete (minimum 14 days curing). An adhesion test is recommended prior to installation.
- Thickness:
- COLPHENE FLAM HR: 3.0 mm (120 mil)
- COLPHENE FLAM HR SP: 4.0 mm (160 mil)
- Dimensions:
- HR: 1 m x 10 m (3.3 ft x 33 ft)
- HR SP: 1 m x 8 m (3.3 ft x 26 ft)
- Selvedge Width: 75 mm (3 in)
- Surface Finish:
- HR: Thermofusible plastic film
- HR SP: Sanded
- Underface: Thermofusible plastic film
- Reinforcement: Composite mat
- Storage: Rolls must be stored upright with the selvedge side on top. If stored outdoors, they must be covered with an opaque protective cover.
Special Notes:
- Temperature Limits: The membranes maintain flexibility down to -25 °C (-13 °F) and have compound stability up to 105 °C (221 °F).
- UV Resistance: These membranes are not UV stable and must be protected from prolonged UV exposure.
- Mechanical Properties:
- Peak load at 23 °C: 19 / 16 kN/m (MD/XD)
- Peak load at -18 °C: 24 / 20 kN/m (MD/XD)
- Elongation at peak load: 65% at 23 °C, 55–70% at -18 °C
- Ultimate elongation: 100%
- Dimensional stability: ≤ 0.5%
- Resistance to puncture: Pass
- Compliance: Meets CSA A123.23-15, Type C, Grade 3 standards.
These membranes are ideal for use in robust waterproofing systems where high mechanical strength, flexibility in cold temperatures, and long-term durability are required. They must be protected from UV exposure and installed under appropriate environmental conditions to ensure optimal performance.
