Description
High Ambient Temperature Epoxy Adhesive for Pressure Injection Grouting
KEMKO 030 HI AMB IR – High Ambient Temperature Epoxy Adhesive for Pressure Injection Grouting. KEMKO 030 is a two-component, low-viscosity structural epoxy adhesive specifically designed for high-temperature ambient conditions (above 90°F). It is used for structural crack and delamination repair in concrete, masonry, stone, and sealed wood. It also serves in filling porous or honeycombed concrete, adhesive bonding of steel (external reinforcement), and anchoring bolts, dowels, or rebar into concrete or masonry. This product is part of the Kemko Injection Process (KIP) System and is applied using automatic meter, mix, and dispense equipment.
· Part A (Resin): Clear amber, 9.4 lbs/gal, 550 cp viscosity
· Part B (Hardener): Dark purple, 8.1 lbs/gal, 110 cp viscosity
· Mixed Color: Dark purple, 9.0 lbs/gal, 350 cp viscosity
· Mix Ratio: 2:1 by volume (100:43 by weight)
· Structural repairs in concrete, masonry, and wood where ambient temperature exceeds 90°F
· Filling of voids and honeycombed concrete
· Bonding steel plates or external reinforcements
· Anchoring bolts and reinforcing bars
· Installation Temperature Range: Best above 90°F; usable down to 50°F (for 50–90°F use KEMKO 038; for 40°F or narrow cracks, use KEMKO 068)
· Minimum Substrate Temperature for Cure: 50°F
· Max In-Service Temperature: Should not exceed 20°F below the material’s Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT = 140°F) under sustained shear stress
· Pot Life/Gel Time: 25 minutes for 100g at 73°F
· Installation Thickness: Max ¼ inch; beyond this, pre-placed aggregate is required to dissipate heat
· Application Method: Requires use of KIP System for pressure injection
· Surface Compatibility: Bonds to dry, damp, and wet (free of standing water) substrates
· Surface Preparation: Follow ASTM D 4259 or ACI 503R; concrete should have ≥250 psi tensile strength; steel to be SSPC SP 5 white metal clean
· Cure Schedule: Typical cure is 7 days at 73°F
· Coverage: Not specified per gallon, but due to low viscosity and intended injection use, coverage will depend on void/crack volume
· VOC-free formula
· Excellent resistance to acids, bases, fuels, and industrial fluids (limited to hydrocarbon solvents)
· Not UV-stable – product is intended for embedded use, not exposed topcoat
· Requires cleanup with acetone or epoxy stripper before cure
· Only available and to be installed by certified KIP System applicators
· Shelf life is minimum 3 years in original sealed containers stored at 60–90°F away from sunlight
