Grouts - Control Joint Filler And Embedded Wire And Can Light Sealer
KEMKO 064 HB – Control Joint Filler, Embedded Wire and Light Can Sealant
KEMKO 064 HB is a two-component, high-viscosity, semi-rigid epoxy designed for sealing control joints, saw cuts, and embedding wires and can lights in concrete and asphalt surfaces. It is formulated specifically for high-build, single-pour applications and is ideal for both interior and exterior environments subject to impact and chemical exposure.
· Part A (Resin) and Part B (Hardener) mixed in a 1:1 volume ratio (100:86 by weight).
· Can be extended with aggregate (up to 2 parts aggregate per 1 part epoxy) for patching or larger fill volumes.
· Designed to be placed using the KEMKO Model C Slot Pump or equivalent dispensing equipment.
· Compatible with backer rods (optional).
· Not to be mixed with solvents; faster curing may be achieved using KEMKO 008 SP.
· Filling control joints and saw cut slots in concrete and asphalt.
· Encasing embedded wires and steel can light fixtures (meets FAA P-606).
· Loop grouting for stop lights and robotic induction systems.
· Bonding precast and extruded curbs to concrete or asphalt.
· Use in facilities with exposure to aircraft, forklift, or automotive fluids.
· Suitable for sloped and uneven surfaces due to controlled flow properties.
· Pot Life: 12–15 minutes (depending on volume).
· Cure Time: Tack-free in 4 hours, hard dry in 6 hours (at 73°F/23°C).
· Recommended Substrate Temperature: Minimum 50°F (10°C) during installation and cure.
· Viscosity (mixed): 190 poise.
· Tensile Strength: 1,400 psi | Elongation: 60% | Hardness: Shore D 62.
· Bond Strength to Concrete: 400 psi.
· UV Stability: Does not embrittle under sunlight; functionally UV resistant.
· Color Options: Standard blue-gray or black; custom colors available.
· Coverage (per gallon) varies by slot dimensions. For example:
o 1/4" x 1/4" joint = 300 linear ft/gal
o 1/2" x 1/2" slot = 75 linear ft/gal.
· Does not contain silica fillers or VOCs, making it environmentally safer post-cure.
· Excellent chemical resistance to acids, bases, fuels, oils, and deicing chemicals (limited resistance to hydrocarbon solvents).
· Not recommended for use in freezing conditions or plastic concrete with unknown admixture compatibility.
· Shelf life is 3 years in original sealed containers stored between 50–90°F.
· For optimal results, surfaces should be CSP 2 to 4 (per ICRI 310.2R), and cleaned to white metal for steel (SSPC-SP5/NACE No.1).
· Ideal for professional use with proper safety precautions and mixing tools (Jiffy mixer at 350–750 RPM).
