Description
Low Exotherm Epoxy Adhesive for Pressure Injection Grouting
KEMKO 077 Large Void IR – Two-component, low viscosity, low exotherm (isothermic) structural epoxy adhesive for pressure injection applications.
KEMKO 077 is formulated for structural bonding and filling of large voids, wide cracks, delaminations, annular spaces, gaps, and honeycombs in concrete. It is especially suited for external reinforcement grouting under steel plates and grouting load-bearing voids under equipment.
This is a two-component system with a 2:1 volumetric mix ratio (Part A resin : Part B hardener). It is typically used in conjunction with the KIP System (KEMKO Injection Process) automatic meter, mix, and dispense equipment. Pre-placement of clean, dry, bagged aggregate is recommended for voids exceeding 1/4 inch to reduce heat build-up and improve compressive modulus.
Used for injection into large voids and cracks in concrete where high structural integrity is required. Appropriate for dry, damp, wet, and even underwater substrates. Applications include reinforcement bonding, structural crack repair, and void filling beneath heavy equipment or structural members.
· Mix Ratio: 2:1 by volume
· Viscosity: Mixed – 250 cP
· Gel Time: 2.25 hours for 1 quart at 73°F (23°C)
· Installation Temp: Minimum 40°F (4.4°C); for 35–65°F use KEMKO 322 ULV IR; for over 90°F use KEMKO 030 HiAmb IR
· Cure Time: Full cure in 28 days at 75°F (25°C)
· Compressive Strength: 10,200 psi
· Flexural Strength: 8,500 psi
· Bond Strength (14 days): 3,700 psi
· UV Resistance: Not specified; primarily structural application—assume not UV stable
· Installation Thickness: Greater than 1/4" (6.35 mm) requires pre-packed aggregate
· Packaging Sizes: 3, 15, and 150-gallon kits
· Color: Mixed material is dark purple; clear amber available upon request
· Not intended for hairline cracks (use KEMKO 068 ULV IR) or for cracks that cannot be sealed at the backside (use KEMKO 050).
· For medium-width cracks from 6 mils to 1/4 inch, consider KEMKO 038 IR Regular.
· Excellent resistance to many chemicals, acids, bases, fuels, and oils—though limited resistance to hydrocarbon solvents.
· Surface prep must meet ICRI CSP 2–4; concrete surface pull-off strength ≥ 250 psi per ASTM C1583.
· Material is VOC-free.
· Shelf life: 3 years in original, sealed container stored at 60–90°F.
