Description
KEMKO 132 is a two-component, solvent-free, elastomeric polyurea binder primarily used for high-impact and abrasion-resistant repairs. It is designed for joint nosing repair mortars, repair of spalls, and restoration of deteriorated concrete using mortars, concretes, or flowable grouts. Additionally, the neat binder is effective for sealing non-structural cracks, saw cuts, and control joints in concrete.
· Binder: KEMKO 132 Polyurea (1:1 resin to hardener by volume)
· Primer: KEMKO 141 Primer (required for damp substrates; apply at 8–10 mils thickness or 160–200 sq ft/gal)
· Aggregates:
o Mortars: High silica sand (washed, kiln-dried, graded); ideal blend is 2:1 of #12 mesh and #30 mesh
o Concretes: 1:1 blend of 3/8 inch gravel and #16 or #20 mesh sand
· Application Tools: Jiffy mixer, mortar or plaster mixer, screed bar, trowel
· Rebuilding damaged joint nosing
· Repairing spalled and deteriorated concrete
· Sealing control joints, saw cuts, and non-structural cracks
· Suitable for both interior and exterior applications on concrete and steel substrates
· Surface Prep: Must be clean, dry or damp (primer needed), and sound. Follow ASTM D 4259 or ACI 503R standards.
· Mix Ratio: 1:1 by volume (Part A to Part B)
· Mixing Time: Mix Part A, then slowly add Part B and mix for 1–2 minutes more
· Application Conditions:
o Min. install temperature: 50°F
o Min. cure temperature: 40°F
o Max. thickness per lift: ~1.5 inches
· Pot Life / Gel Time: 20 minutes at 100 g mass
· Cure Time:
o Touch dry: 1.5 hours
o Hard dry: 5.5 hours
o Full mechanical properties: 7 days at 73°F
· Coverage: Varies with aggregate; primer coverage is 160–200 sq ft/gal
· Color: Standard gray; custom colors available
· UV Resistant: Does not embrittle or degrade under prolonged sunlight exposure
· Environmentally safe and solvent-free (no VOCs)
· Excellent resistance to impact, abrasion, automotive fluids, aircraft fluids, and deicing chemicals
· Limited resistance to hydrocarbon solvents
· Cured product is freeze-thaw resistant
· Not to be thinned or modified with solvents
· Shelf life: Minimum 3 years in sealed containers stored between 60–90°F
