Description

High Temperature Epoxy Adhesive for Pressure Injection Grouting

Material Use:

KEMKO 165 HiTemp IR – A two-component, solvent-free epoxy adhesive designed for structural repair applications subject to elevated ambient in-service temperatures.

This high-temperature resistant epoxy is primarily used for pressure injection grouting. It is ideal for structural repair of cracks and delaminations in concrete, masonry, stone, and sealed wood. Other uses include filling porous concrete and grout, bonding steel reinforcement externally, and anchoring bolts, dowels, and rebar into various substrates under elevated temperature conditions.

System Components:

KEMKO 165 is a two-component system with a resin (Part A) and hardener (Part B) mixed in a 2:1 volumetric ratio (100:42 by weight). It is applied exclusively using the KIP System automatic meter, mix, and dispense equipment. No primers are indicated or required due to excellent wetting properties and substrate bonding performance.

Applications:

Designed for use on concrete, masonry, stone, steel, and sealed wood, including surfaces that are dry, damp, or wet (without free-standing water). Effective in cracks, delaminations, and annular voids up to 1/4" wide. For larger gaps, pre-placed aggregate is recommended to facilitate installation.

Application Details:

·      Mix Ratio: 2:1 by volume (Resin:Hardener)

·      Viscosity (mixed): 800 cP

·      Gel Time (100g at 73°F): 16 minutes

·      Installation Temp: Minimum 50°F substrate

·      Cure Temp: Minimum 40°F substrate

·      Full Cure: Achieved under ambient conditions (7 days at 73°F)

·      Thickness Limitation: Up to 1/4"; use aggregate if thicker

·      Cleaning: Tools must be cleaned before cure; acetone or detergent suggested

·      Shelf Life: Minimum 3 years in sealed containers at 60–90°F

Special Notes:

·      Temperature Resistance: Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) is 165°F. For applications with sustained shear stress, do not exceed service temperature 20°F below HDT.

·      Mechanical Properties:

o   Tensile Strength: 8000 psi

o   Compressive Yield Strength: 16,500 psi

o   Flexural Strength: 11,600 psi

·      Chemical Resistance: Excellent against a wide range of chemicals including acids, bases, fuels, and cutting oils. Limited resistance to hydrocarbon solvents.

·      UV Stability: Not specified – likely not UV stable for exposed applications.

·      Coverage: Not specified in gallons per square foot due to injection application method.

·      System Use: Exclusively available and installed through KIP System licensees. Not suitable for user thinning or modification.
