Description
PC-260 is a two-component, fast-setting, fast-curing, solvent-free, flexible, high-performance, and high-solids polyurethane elastomeric coating that can be applied to suitably prepared interior or exterior concrete, plywood and metal surfaces. Due to its fast gel time, PC-260 is suitable for applications in temperatures as low as 20°F (-6°C).
Material Use:
PC-260 is a two-component, solvent-free, elastomeric polyurethane base membrane designed for both interior and exterior use. It functions as a flexible, high-performance base coat for waterproofing, mechanical room flooring, and traffic deck systems. It's suitable for surfaces such as concrete, plywood, and metal.
System Components:
- Base Membrane: PC-260
- Primer (if recoat delay > 48 hrs): Polyprime U
- Top Coats (not listed in this TDS but typically required in systems): To be determined from complementary Polycoat topcoats, as PC-260 itself is not UV-stable
- Aggregates:
- Dry rounded sand (16 or 20 mesh) for slip resistance: 20 lbs/100 sqft
- Rubber granules (14–30 mesh): up to 20 lbs/100 sqft
Applications:
- Crack repairs and expansion joints
- Interior/exterior pedestrian traffic surfaces (walkways, patios, stairways)
- Mechanical rooms and floors
- Kennel runs, stalls, and wash racks
- Sundecks and balconies
- Vehicular traffic areas
Application Details:
- Mixing Ratio: 4 parts Side-A to 1 part Side-B
- Mixing Instructions: Mechanically mix Side-A and Side-B separately, then combine and mix thoroughly without vertical motion.
- Application Tools: Squeegee or notched trowel preferred; phenolic roller may be used with care
- Broadcast Options: Sand or rubber aggregates can be added into the wet second coat for texture
- Pot Life/Gel Time: Begins to gel in 20–30 minutes
- Recoating Window: 2–4 hours between coats at 75°F (24°C) and 50% RH. If more than 48 hours pass, re-prime with Polyprime U
- Curing Time: Tack-free in 4–6 hours; varies with environment
- Coverage Rate: 1 gallon per 100 sqft
- Film Thickness: 15 ± 1 mils dry film per coat
- Installation Temperature: Minimum 20°F (-6°C)
- Viscosity: Side-A: 2500–3000 cps; Side-B: 100 cps
Special Notes:
- PC-260 is not UV stable and should be topcoated with a UV-resistant finish for exterior use
- Not suitable for split slabs, buried membranes, sandwich slabs, magnesite, or non-structural lightweight concrete
- Acceptable over on-grade slabs if vapor transmission test is passed
- Moisture sensitive in clear coats—may appear cloudy in humid conditions
- Surface must be clean, dry, and contaminant-free
- Must not be diluted under any circumstances
- Shelf Life: 1 year in original sealed containers at 60–95°F
