PC-550 Catalyst is a single component, proprietary, liquid organometallic catalyst that reduces the cold weather cure time of aromatic polyurethane polyurea coatings. PC-550 Catalyst is added to PC-550SC.

System Components:
PC-550 Catalyst is not a standalone coating but functions as an additive component to the PC-550SC system. It must be mixed thoroughly into the PC-550SC basecoat prior to application, forming part of a cold weather coating system.
Applications:
This catalyst is used in environments where low temperatures would otherwise slow down the curing process of polyurethane/polyurea coatings. It is particularly effective for exterior or unconditioned spaces during colder seasons, improving project schedules and coating performance.
Application Details:
· Mixing Instructions: Blend thoroughly using a mechanical mixer (e.g., Jiffy Mixer) until a homogenous mixture is achieved or mix manually for at least 5 minutes.
· Packaging: Available in 0.7 oz (20 g) vials and 1 quart (0.95 L) cans.
· Cleanup: Use an environmentally safe solvent in accordance with local regulations immediately after use.
· Storage: Store indoors between 60–95°F (15–35°C); shelf life is 1 year in unopened, original containers.
Special Notes:
· Usage Limits: For use in cold temperatures only. Adding excessive amounts may degrade physical properties and lead to foaming. Open containers must be used promptly and the product should never be diluted.
· Compatibility: Exclusively used with PC-550SC basecoat; it is not a universal catalyst for other systems.
· Physical Properties: Specific gravity: 1.008 ± 0.05; Viscosity at 75°F: 100 ± 50 cps; 100% solids by weight and volume.
· Environmental Considerations: Only use in temperatures appropriate for cold weather applications. Not for use in warm or temperate conditions.
· UV Stability: Not applicable directly; UV resistance depends on the topcoat used with PC-550SC.
