POLY-CAULK PX 15GG

Poly-Caulk^® PX 15GG is an elastomeric, low-modulus, one component, moisture-curing, non-sag, polyurethane sealant. The product requires no mixing and typically requires no priming to bond to many materials, including concrete and masonry.

 POLY-CAULK PX 15GG is a one-component, elastomeric, low-modulus, no-sag, moisture-curing polyurethane joint sealant. It is primarily used in civil and industrial construction for sealing expansion joints between precast concrete panels, wooden, aluminum, and PVC joinery, as well as bonding concrete and baked clay roof tiles.

 This is a standalone material typically not requiring a primer on most construction substrates, enhancing its efficiency and reducing cost. It can be used as part of a joint sealing system where high flexibility and durability are needed. No additional coatings or topcoats are specified or required.

 Recommended for use in expansion joints, precast concrete joints, tile bonding, and as a sealant in both horizontal and vertical joints. It adheres well to concrete, masonry, wood, aluminum, PVC, and baked clay tiles. Approved for use in USDA-inspected facilities and complies with a wide range of VOC and emissions regulations.

·       Installation Temperature Range: 41°F to 104°F (5°C to 40°C).

·       Service Temperature Range: -40°F to 180°F (-40°C to 82.2°C).

·       Surface Prep: Substrates must be clean, dry, and free of grease, curing compounds, and residue.

·       Joint Design: Follows a 2:1 width-to-depth ratio. Horizontal joint depth must be between 1/4” to 1/2” (6.4 mm to 12.7 mm).

·       Cure Time: Tack-free in ~165 minutes; full cure in 4–7 days.

·       Application Method: Manual or pneumatic caulking guns; smooth finish with damp knife.

·       Paint Compatibility: Compatible with water-based paints; solvent-based paint compatibility should be checked in advance.

·       Cleanup: Uncured material can be cleaned with toluene or xylene. Mechanical removal is needed after curing.

·       Movement Capability: ±35% joint movement (ASTM C719).

·       UV Resistance: Rated as “Good” (not UV stable).

·       VOC Content: 96 g/L, compliant with all U.S. regulations including CARB and SCAQMD.

·       Shelf Life: 12 months in cartridges/sausages, 6 months in pails/drums (unopened, stored at 40°–95°F).

·       Coverage: Depending on joint dimensions, e.g., for a 1/4” x 1/4” joint, approx. 308 linear ft/gal. For triangular joints, up to 616 linear ft/gal at 1/4" depth.

·       Packaging: Available in 10.1 oz (300 mL) cartridges and 20 oz (592 mL) sausages.
