Poly-I-Gard 246/246SC is a single-component, liquid-applied, moisture-cured aromatic polyurethane waterproofing membrane. It is available in standard colors Stone Grey and Tan, with custom colors offered in minimum orders of 250 gallons.
This material is designed for waterproofing applications in environments with heavy pedestrian traffic and parking structures, providing a seamless, elastomeric membrane with good weatherability and proven protective performance.
System Components
Poly-I-Gard 246/246SC is typically used as a topcoat in a multilayer waterproofing system. It requires re-priming with Polyprime U if the recoat window of 48 hours is exceeded. For accelerated curing, Polyglaze Hardener can be added, and optionally PC-50 Accelerator is referenced for recoat scheduling. This indicates compatibility with other Polycoat primers and accelerants as part of a complete system.
Applications
Recommended for use on concrete surfaces subjected to high traffic where waterproofing and weather resistance are critical. Surfaces such as slabs on grade may be coated if pre-tested for moisture vapor transmission. However, unsuitable substrates include split slabs, buried or sandwich membranes, magnesite, non-structural lightweight concrete, and unvented metal pans.
Application Details
· Mixing: Mechanically mixed at low speed to avoid air entrapment.
· Application: Best applied with a squeegee; airless sprayer or phenolic core roller may also be used.
· Coverage Rate: ~1 gallon per 100 sq. ft.
· Recommended Dry Film Thickness per Coat: 12 ± 2 mils for 246, and 14 ± 2 mils for 246SC.
