Description

The Polydeck® 165SC Pedestrian Traffic Deck System is a liquid applied, polyurethane waterproofing deck system. The system utilizes an epoxy primer, one coat of a fast setting water catalyzed polyurethane basecoat with a rubber aggregate that can be applied at any thickness, and one or two coats of an aliphatic polyurethane topcoat.

Material Use:

Polydeck 165SC is a liquid-applied, polyurethane-based waterproofing pedestrian traffic deck system designed to protect concrete and plywood substrates. It offers high flexibility and durability against weather, chemicals, spalling, and freeze/thaw damage, while accommodating structural movements.

System Components:

·       Primer: Polyprime 2180SC (for metal and general surfaces), Polyprime EBF-LV (for porous or outgassing concrete)

·       Basecoat: PC-550SC (water-catalyzed polyurethane with rubber aggregate)

·       Topcoat: Polyglaze 100/100SC/100C or Polyglaze AL-50/AL-50SC (aliphatic polyurethane)

Applications:

Ideal for use on balconies, patios, roof decks, sun decks, walkways, and areas over occupied space.

Application Details:

·       Priming:

o   Polyprime 2180SC: 1 gal/300 sq ft (3 dry mils)

o   Polyprime EBF-LV (for rough/porous concrete): 1 gal/200 sq ft

·       Basecoat (PC-550SC):

o   Rubber finish: 4 gal/100 sq ft (58 dry mils)

o   Sand finish: 3 gal/100 sq ft + 1 gal/100 sq ft second coat (total 57 dry mils)

·       Aggregate Broadcast:

o   Rubber granules: 10 lbs/100 sq ft

o   Sand (20 mesh, Moh’s 6.5+): 20 lbs/100 sq ft

·       Topcoat (Polyglaze): 1.25 gal/100 sq ft (13–14 dry mils)

·       Full System Thickness: 72 dry mils (1836 microns), exclusive of aggregate

·       Fast Cure Option: Polyglaze Hardener reduces cure time to 2–4 hours per coat; recoats within 8–12 hours

Special Notes:

·       Not suitable for below-grade slabs, unvented metal pans, magnesite, asphalt, lightweight concrete, or pool decks.

·       Concrete must be 3000 psi minimum and cured for 28 days.

·       Must be applied >5°F above dew point.

·       Substrate must be sound and properly sloped for drainage.

·       Pot life and working time depend on ambient temperature; details in individual component TDS recommended.

·       Uncured materials are moisture and heat-sensitive.

·       Coverage and thickness are lab-tested on smooth substrates; mockups are advised for accurate project-specific measurements.

·       Cleaning: Use urethane-grade environmentally safe solvents immediately after application.

UV Stability:
Polyglaze topcoats are aliphatic polyurethanes, which are UV stable, ensuring long-term exposure resistance.
