Description
Polyeuro® 6881 is a relatively slow setting, 100% solids, flexible, two component spray polyurea that can be applied to suitably prepared concrete and metal surfaces.
Material Use:
Polyeuro 6881 – Polyurea Protective Coating for Broadcast Aggregate Applications
Polyeuro 6881 is a two-component, flexible, 100% solids spray-applied polyurea designed primarily for use on horizontal surfaces requiring waterproofing and aggregate broadcast. It is ideal for environments that demand a seamless, chemically resistant, and elastomeric barrier, particularly on concrete and metal substrates.
System Components:
Polyeuro 6881 is typically applied as part of a system including:
· Repair Material (if needed): PC-260 or Polyprime 21 mixed with sand for patching cracks, spalls, or voids.
· Primer (when required): Specific primers depend on substrate—Polyprime 21 for concrete; contact Polycoat for stainless steel or aluminum primers.
· Topcoat (optional for UV resistance): Aliphatic polyurethane or polyurea topcoat within 12 hours of application for color stability and UV protection.
Applications:
Suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial settings, including:
· Parking garage decks
· Walkways and balconies
· Warehouse floors
· Mining operations
· Food processing facilities
· Landfill containment
· Water and wastewater treatment systems
Application Details:
· Mix Ratio: 1A:1B by volume
· Application Temperature: 40°F to 120°F (4.4°C to 48.8°C)
· Humidity Limit: <85% RH, and at least 5°F (3°C) above dew point during application
· Tack Free Time: 8–15 minutes @ 75 mils
· Recoat Window: 0–12 hours
· Gel Time: 2–4 minutes @ 150°F (65.5°C), 50% RH
· Spray Equipment: Heated, high-pressure plural-component systems (e.g., Graco “Hydra-Cat” 45:1)
· Film Thickness: 20–100 mils per coat (wet)
· Coverage: 1 gallon per 1600 ft² per mil thickness (i.e., at 100 mils = 16 ft²/gallon)
Special Notes:
· Not UV stable – must be topcoated with an aliphatic finish for UV resistance.
· Highly elongatable (375%), with excellent tear strength (300 pli) and tensile strength (1900 psi).
· Service temperature range is wide: -40°F to 250°F (-40°C to 121°C).
· Zero VOC and odorless, meets USDA criteria, suitable for sensitive environments.
· Not recommended for prolonged exposure to concentrated acids.
· Shelf life: 1 year in unopened containers stored at 60–95°F (15–35°C).
· Do not dilute. Homogeneous mixing of Side-B is critical.
· Adhesion testing is advised on metal, plastic, and non-standard substrates before application.
