Description
Polyeuro® MH-752HH is a fast set, rapid curing, aromatic, two component, hybrid polyurea/polyurethane spray designed to be applied over EPS, wood, and many other surfaces with better heat stability and greater stiffness.
Material Use
Polyeuro MH-752HH – Two-Component Aromatic Hybrid Polyurethane Protective Coating
Polyeuro MH-752HH is used as a fast-set, rapid-curing spray coating offering robust plastic “shell-like” protection primarily for EPS foam, wood, and similar substrates. It provides a balance of high stiffness and impact resistance, making it suitable for architectural features, props, speaker boxes, and decorative or structural foam protection.
System Components
This material is a 1:1 mix of Side-A (isocyanate) and Side-B (resin) components. Color Packs, when custom colors are desired, must be added to Side-B. For enhanced UV stability or colorfastness, it may be topcoated within 12 hours using an aliphatic polyurethane or polyurea.
Applications
· Architectural shapes
· Theming props and faux rock
· Dock flotation devices
· Food processing plant components
· Wooden structures (cabinets, pallets, crates)
· Steel and EPS coatings
· Speaker enclosures
Application Details
· Mixing & Equipment: Use plural component heated spray equipment (e.g., Graco Reactor) at 2000+ psi, with Side-A and Side-B heated to 150–160°F (65–71°C).
· Preconditioning: Materials must be pre-warmed to 80–90°F (27–32°C).
· Spraying Method: Smooth, multidirectional passes for uniformity.
· Pot Life: 2–4 seconds at 150°F (65.5°C), 50% RH
· Tack-Free Time: 60–120 seconds
· Recoat Window: 0–12 hours
· Coverage: Theoretical coverage is 1600 sq ft per gallon per mil thickness (wet).
Surface Preparation
Surface must be clean, dry, and profiled appropriately:
· Concrete: Minimum 28 days cure; profile to CSP 3–5; PC-260 or Polyprime 21 with sand may be used for patching prior to priming.
· Wood: Sand and repair knots with PC-260 and sand.
· Steel: Near-White Metal Blast (SSPC-SP10/NACE 2), 3–4 mils profile; prime same day.
· Plastics and EPS: Mechanically abrade. Avoid solvent-based primers for polystyrene.
· Other substrates: Adhesion testing recommended.
Special Notes
· UV Stability: Not UV stable; yellows or darkens under UV exposure. Requires aliphatic topcoat for UV resistance.
· Temperature Limits:
o Service: -40°F to 300°F (-40°C to 149°C)
o Storage: 60–95°F (15–35°C); avoid freezing.
· Hardness: 75 ± 5 Shore D
· Tensile Strength: 4000 ± 200 psi
· Tear Strength: 450 ± 50 pli
· Elongation: 15 ± 5%
· VOC Content: Zero VOC
· Solid Content: 100% solids
· Mil Thickness: Customizable—no specific min/max provided, but calculate coverage based on:
o Application Rate per Gallon = (1600 sqft / Dry Mil Thickness) x Solids Content.
