Description
Polyeuro® MPL-11 is a two component, 1:1, 100% solids, fast set, liquid applied, modified-polyurea-liner system for metal, concrete, fiberglass and wood surfaces.
Material Use
Polyeuro MPL-11 – Two-Component Modified Polyurea Protective Coating
Polyeuro MPL-11 is a fast-set, 100% solids, two-component polyurea coating designed for high-performance protection of metal, concrete, fiberglass, and wood surfaces. It serves as a seamless, elastomeric liner offering impact, abrasion, and chemical resistance in demanding environments.
System Components
Polyeuro MPL-11 consists of Side-A and Side-B components mixed in a 1:1 ratio by volume. It can be combined with repair materials such as Polycoat PC-260 or a mixture of Polyprime 21 and sand for substrate preparation. For enhanced durability and UV stability, a compatible aliphatic polyurethane or polyurea topcoat can be applied within 12 hours of installation.
Applications
· Industrial floorings
· Waterproof decking and walkways
· Truck-bed liners, utility vehicles, and horse trailers
· Cargo holds, liners, and boat linings
· Containment areas and encapsulation of fiberglass/polystyrene structures
Application Details
· Mixing & Application: Requires plural component heated high-pressure spray equipment (e.g., Graco Reactor, Gusmer GX7-400), minimum 2000 psi, material preconditioned to 75–80°F.
· Surface Temperature: Minimum of 5°F (3°C) above dew point.
· Application Thickness: Recommended >2 mm.
· Coverage: 1 mil yields approx. 1600 ft² per gallon.
· Pot Life: 5–10 seconds.
· Tack-Free Time: 40–60 seconds.
· Recoat Window: 0–6 hours.
· Return to Service: Foot traffic in 2–4 hours; full service in 10–24 hours.
Special Notes
· UV Resistance: Being aromatic, the material will yellow or darken with UV exposure. It is not UV stable and should be topcoated for colorfastness.
· Environmental Limits:
o Application temperatures: >150°F (material), 5°F above dew point (surface)
o Service temperature: -40°F to 250°F dry; 40°F to 120°F wet
o Storage: 60–95°F in sealed containers (avoid freezing)
· Physical Properties:
o Hardness: 50 ± 5 Shore D
o Tensile strength: 2700 ± 200 psi
o Elongation: 225 ± 20%
o Tear strength: 400 ± 50 pli
o VOC: 0 g/L
· Priming: Depending on substrate, use primers like Polyprime 21 or contact Polycoat for specific recommendations. Shot-blasted concrete, treated metals, and repaired substrates are essential for best adhesion.
· Limitations: Must not be diluted, requires desiccant devices during use, and specific substrate tests are recommended (especially on aluminum, stainless steel, and old cast iron).
