Description
Polyeuro® MPL-501 is a two component, 1:1, 100% solids, fast set, liquid applied, modified polyurea-liner system for metal, concrete, fiberglass and wood surfaces.
Material Use:
Polyeuro MPL-501 – A two-component, 1:1 ratio, 100% solids, fast-set, modified polyurea protective coating formulated for use on concrete, metal, fiberglass, and wood surfaces.
This product serves as a tough, elastomeric, high-build liner and protective coating. It is designed for industrial flooring, waterproof decking, containment areas, and various linings such as truck beds, horse trailers, boat linings, and cargo holds. It is particularly suited for high-abrasion environments and applications requiring chemical and impact resistance.
System Components:
Polyeuro MPL-501 consists of Side-A and Side-B components, mixed in equal parts by volume. It is applied using plural component heated high-pressure spray equipment. For surface repair prior to coating, PC-260 or a blend of Polyprime 21 with sand is recommended.
Applications:
Commonly applied in the following settings:
· Cargo holds and liners
· Truck-bed liners
· Boat interiors
· Walkways and decks
· Utility vehicles
· Encapsulation of polystyrene and fiberglass structures
· Containment and waterproofing applications
Application Details:
· Mix Ratio: 1A : 1B by volume
· Pot Life: 2–4 seconds @ 150°F (65.5°C) and 50% RH
· Tack-Free Time: 10–30 seconds (at 150 mils)
· Recoat Time Window: 0–12 hours
· Recommended Spray Pressure: Minimum 2000 psi
· Spray Temperature: Above 150°F (66°C)
· Surface Temp Requirement: Minimum 5°F (3°C) above dew point
· Recommended Substrate Cure Time (for new concrete): 28 days
· Primer Requirements: Surface-specific; for rough/damaged concrete, use PC-260 or Polyprime 21 with sand. Do not use solvent-based primers on polystyrene.
· Coverage Rate: 1 gallon per 1600 ft² per dry mil. Application thickness can vary as needed.
· Application Method: Sprayed in smooth, multi-directional passes using heated, plural-component equipment.
Special Notes:
· UV Resistance: Aromatic formulation; not UV-stable. Subject to yellowing and dulling under UV exposure. Top-coating with an aliphatic polyurethane/polyurea/polyaspartic is recommended within 12 hours for UV protection.
· Service Temperature Range (Dry): -20°F to 250°F (-29°C to 121°C)
· Hardness: 55 ± 5 Shore D
· Tensile Strength: 2800 ± 200 psi
