Description

Polyglaze® 400/400C/400SC is a polyester, aliphatic, single component, liquid applied, moisture cured, polyurethane topcoat for waterproofing membrane systems.

Material Use:

Polyglaze 400 series is used as a single-component, moisture-cured, aliphatic polyurethane topcoat in waterproofing membrane systems. It is designed for surfaces exposed to heavy pedestrian traffic or where UV resistance and gloss retention are required, such as decks over concrete or plywood.

System Components:

Polyglaze 400/400C/400SC is typically applied as the final topcoat in a multilayer polyurethane waterproofing system. For installations where Polyglaze Clear is used as a standalone seal coat, it must be applied over Polyprime U primer. If more than 48 hours pass between coats, re-priming with Polyprime U is mandatory. Optionally, Polyglaze Hardener may be added to accelerate curing.

Applications:

·       Topcoat over pedestrian and vehicular traffic decks

·       Protective UV-resistant finish over polyurethane base coats

·       Final waterproofing layer in exposed environments

·       Suitable for both concrete and plywood surfaces

Application Details:

·       Coverage: ~100 sqft/gallon (1 gallon per 100 sqft)

·       Recommended Thickness:

o   Polyglaze 400/400C: 10 ± 2 mils (dry film thickness)

o   Polyglaze 400SC: 12 ± 2 mils (dry film thickness)

·       Mixing: Mechanical mixing at low speed to ensure homogeneous blend without air entrapment.

·       Methods: Squeegee preferred; airless sprayer or phenolic roller may be used with caution to prevent bubbles.

·       Recoat Window: Within 48 hours; otherwise surface must be re-primed.

·       Curing Time at 75°F (24°C), 50% RH:

o   Tack-free: ~16 hours

o   Light traffic: 24 hours

o   Full cure for heavy traffic: 72 hours

o   Accelerated with hardener: 6–8 hours cure, 24-hour recoat window

Special Notes:

·       Temperature Range for Application: 60–95°F (15–35°C)

·       Humidity Sensitivity: High temperature and humidity accelerate curing; low levels extend it.

·       UV Resistance: Yes – UV resistant for gloss retention

·       VOC Levels:

o   Polyglaze 400: 340 g/L

o   Polyglaze 400C: 250 g/L

o   Polyglaze 400SC: 100 g/L

·       Colors:

o   Polyglaze 400: Clear, Tan

o   Polyglaze 400C: Tan, Dolphin Grey, Red, Tint-White (with color packs)

o   Polyglaze 400SC: Tint-White with various color packs

·       Limitations: Not suitable for split slabs, buried membranes, sandwich insulation slabs, or magnesite. Moisture test required for on-grade slabs. Not to be diluted.

·       Shelf Life: 1 year in unopened containers when stored at 60–95°F (15–35°C)
