Material Use:

Sikafloor®-261 Fast Set is a two-component, rapid-curing, high-solids, glossy epoxy resin coating. It is designed for use as a seamless, high-build floor coating in commercial, industrial, food service, and institutional settings. Its quick turnaround makes it ideal for areas requiring rapid service resumption. It is also used as a resin component (primer, binder, top coat) in Sikafloor® Morritex Systems.

System Components:

· Primer, Binder, and Top Coat: Sikafloor®-261 Fast Set (can serve all three functions)

· For substrates with >4% moisture content: Use Sikafloor®-1610 or Sikafloor®-81 EpoCem®CA as a primer

· Wall/Ceiling Finishes: May be used with Sikafloor® Extender T to achieve heavier coats

· Cleaner: Sika® Epoxy Cleaner (for tools)

Application Details:

· Surface Preparation: Mechanically prepare to ICRI/CSP 3-4 for floors, 1-3 for walls

· Prime Coat: 5–8 mil WFT (200–325 ft²/gal)

· Wear Coat: 12–25 mil WFT (65–135 ft²/gal)

· Wall Finish: 2 x 5 mil WFT (2 x 325 ft²/gal)

· Mixing Ratio: 2:1 by volume (Part A:B)

· Mixing Method: Mechanically only, no hand mixing

· Application Tools: Squeegee, roller, or brush depending on surface

Special Notes:

· Pot Life:

o 10 min at 30 °C

o 15 min at 20 °C

o 20 min at 10 °C

· Curing Time for Foot Traffic:

o 3 hours at 30 °C

o 4 hours at 20 °C

o 12 hours at 10 °C

· Full Cure / Chemical Resistance:

o 4–7 days depending on temperature

· Application Conditions:

o Ambient temperature: 10–30 °C

o Relative humidity: ≤ 85%

o Substrate temp ≥ 3 °C above dew point

o Concrete moisture ≤ 4% (Tramex meter); if over, use Sikafloor®-1610 or -81

· UV Resistance: Not UV stable – will discolor under UV or certain artificial lighting

· VOC Content: <50 g/L

· Abrasion Resistance: ~0.11 g loss (ASTM D4060)

· Thickness:

o Floor wear coat: 12–25 mil WFT

o Wall finish: 2 x 5 mil WFT

· Shore D Hardness: ~76

· Adhesion Strength: >2.5 MPa (substrate failure)

· Coefficient of Friction:

o Dry: ~0.93

o Wet: ~0.32

· Not for Exterior Use: Not recommended for exterior slabs subject to freeze/thaw

· Surface Sheen Options: Gloss, satin, matte

· Colour Options: Unlimited, custom available

· Chemical Resistance: Good, consult Sika Canada for specifics

· Limitations:

o Not for negative side waterproofing

o Not for ASR-affected concrete

o Sensitive to condensation during curing

This product is best suited for rapid-installation environments requiring durable, cleanable, and aesthetically flexible floor finishes, and can be integrated into comprehensive epoxy floor systems.
