Material Use:

Sikafloor®-317 UV is a two-component, water-based, low odor, non-yellowing, clear matte aliphatic polyurethane topcoat. It is specifically designed for use as a UV-blocking topcoat for interior Sikafloor® and Sikagard® resin floor and wall systems. Its main function is to reduce gloss and enhance the UV stability and color retention of decorative flooring and wall coatings.

System Components:

  • Sikafloor®-317 UV is a finish/topcoat layer and should be used over Sikafloor® or Sikagard® systems.
  • Compatible with Sikafloor® PurCem® mortar systems for thermal shock resistance.
  • Must be applied as a two-coat system for best performance.

Applications:

  • Interior spaces only: floors and walls.
  • Ideal for public and commercial buildings, including hospitals, clinics, laboratories, schools, universities, retail spaces, museums, banks, offices, and warehouses.
  • Particularly useful where visual clarity and matte aesthetics are important, such as multi-colored flake or quartz systems.

Application Details:

  • Curing Time at 23 °C (73 °F):
    • Dry to touch: ~26 minutes
    • Hard dry: ~6 hours
    • Light traffic: ~8 hours
    • Full cure: ~7 days
  • Recoat Window: 6–24 hours; if exceeded, surface must be abraded and solvent wiped before recoating.

    • Application temperature: 15–30 °C (59–86 °F)
    • Relative humidity: max 75% during application
    • Substrate must be 3 °C above dew point
    • Adequate ventilation is essential to promote curing
  • UV Stability: The product is UV blocking and non-yellowing, designed to preserve underlying system aesthetics.
  • Not UV stable for exterior use; interior only.
  • Limitations:
    • Do not apply at thicknesses other than specified to avoid gloss variation or cloudy appearance.
