Material Use:
COLPHENE TORCH’N STICK is a high-performance waterproofing membrane designed for use on foundation walls and other vertical below-grade concrete surfaces. It provides a durable, flexible barrier against water infiltration and is particularly suited for applications requiring resistance to hydrostatic pressure, radon, and methane gas permeability.
System Components:
This membrane is composed of SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) modified bitumen reinforced with a non-woven polyester mat. Both the top and bottom surfaces are protected with a thermofusible plastic film, allowing for heat-welded installation. The system requires the use of a primer—either ELASTOCOL 350 or ELASTOCOL 500—to ensure proper adhesion to the substrate. Additional components such as SOPRABOARD, SOPRA-XPS, or SOPRADRAIN panels can be applied over the membrane by heating the surface and embedding the panels into the softened bitumen.
Applications:
COLPHENE TORCH’N STICK is intended for vertical waterproofing applications on concrete foundation walls and other below-grade structures. It is especially effective in environments where resistance to water pressure, radon gas, and methane gas is critical. The membrane is suitable for use in both residential and commercial construction projects.
Application Details:
- Installation Method: Heat-welded using a propane torch. The underface of the membrane is activated by heat and bonded to the primed substrate.
- Primer Requirement: ELASTOCOL 350 or ELASTOCOL 500 must be applied to the substrate prior to membrane installation.
- Substrate Conditions: The surface must be clean, dry, sound, and free of contaminants. Concrete must be cured for a minimum of 14 days before application. An adhesion test is recommended.

Special Notes:

Storage and Handling:
Store rolls upright with the selvedge side on top. If stored outdoors, protect with an opaque cover after removing the delivery packaging.
