Description
SOPRA-SPF 200 is a two-component, closed-cell, spray-applied polyurethane foam insulation system.
Material Use:
SOPRA-SPF 200 is a high-performance, two-component, closed-cell spray-applied polyurethane foam insulation system. It is designed for use in commercial, industrial, and residential construction to provide thermal insulation and air/vapour barrier performance. It is suitable for application on exterior and interior walls, as well as foundation walls.
System Components:
SOPRA-SPF 200 is composed of two parts: SOPRA-SPF ISO (Part A) and SOPRA-SPF 200 RESIN (Part B), which must be mixed in a 1:1 volume ratio. These components are designed to work exclusively together and must not be mixed with products from other suppliers, as this may compromise the system’s performance. The system is applied using a mechanical purge spray gun and proportioning equipment capable of maintaining the required temperature and pressure.
Applications:
This insulation system is suitable for use on a variety of substrates including masonry, concrete, wood, metal, gypsum, and sanded bitumen membranes. It is ideal for use in wall assemblies and foundation insulation where high thermal resistance and air sealing are required. SOPRA-SPF 200 is compliant with CAN/ULC-S705.1-15 and is GREENGUARD GOLD certified, making it suitable for indoor environments with strict air quality requirements.

Special Notes:
- SOPRA-SPF 200 must be applied by certified installers trained under the CAN/ULC-S705.2 standard and ISO 17024.
- The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants. Moisture (including high humidity >85% RH) can negatively affect foam performance.
- When applied over air or vapour barrier membranes, mechanical fastening of metal bars is required at transitions and openings to prevent detachment during foam expansion.
- SOPRA-SPF 200 has excellent dimensional stability and low water absorption (0.3% by volume), and it resists fungal growth.
- The product has a flame spread rating of 265 and a smoke developed classification of 435 per CAN/ULC-S102.
- Long-term thermal resistance (LTTR) values range from RSI 0.91 (R-5.17) at 25 mm (1 in) to RSI 3.87 (R-22.0) at 100 mm (4 in).
- Aged thermal resistance after 90 days for 50 mm (2 in) thickness is RSI 2.4 (R-13.9) per ASTM C518.
SOPRA-SPF 200 is a robust and efficient insulation solution that integrates seamlessly into building envelope systems, offering high thermal performance, air sealing, and moisture resistance. It is best used in conjunction with compatible SOPREMA air/vapour barrier membranes and should be protected from prolonged UV exposure post-installation.
