Material Use:
SOPRAWAY ADHESIVE is a solvent-free, low-odour, acrylic latex emulsion adhesive specifically designed for the interior installation of SOPRAWAY NG2 rubber acoustic membranes. It is formulated to provide strong adhesion to a variety of substrates commonly found in flooring and acoustic underlayment applications.
System Components:
SOPRAWAY ADHESIVE is used as part of a system with SOPRAWAY NG2 rubber acoustic membrane. It acts as the bonding agent between the membrane and the substrate. No primer or additional base coat is required, as the adhesive is ready-to-use and does not require mixing or surface priming under standard conditions.
Applications:
This adhesive is intended for interior use only and is suitable for bonding acoustic membranes to properly prepared substrates such as:
- Fully cured concrete (minimum 28 days old)
- Cementitious screeds and mortar beds
- Gypsum-based concrete
- Cement-based levelling plasters
- Exterior-grade plywood
Application Details:
SOPRAWAY ADHESIVE should be applied directly from the container using a V-notched trowel. Recommended trowel sizes are:
- 3 mm (1/8 in) V-notched trowel: coverage of approximately 46–55 m² (500–600 ft²) per 18.9 L (5 US gal) container
- 4.5 mm (3/16 in) V-notched trowel: coverage of approximately 37 m² (400 ft²) per 18.9 L (5 US gal) container
The adhesive must be applied to clean, dry, and dust-free surfaces. The SOPRAWAY NG2 membrane should be installed while the adhesive is still fresh and wet. Do not allow the adhesive to skin over or dry before membrane placement.
Special Notes:
- Application Temperature Range: 10 °C to 35 °C (50 °F to 95 °F)
- Pot Life / Wet Open Time: Approximately 30 minutes
- Curing Time: 24 hours under ideal conditions (23 °C / 73 °F and 50% RH)
- Full Cure Time: 24 hours
- UV Resistance: Not UV stable; interior use only
- Freeze/Thaw Stability: Stable down to 5 °C (41 °F); avoid freezing
- Flash Point: Non-flammable
- Storage: Store in original sealed containers in a ventilated area, away from heat, frost, and direct sunlight. Shelf life is 24 months.
- Cleaning: Uncured adhesive can be cleaned with water. Cured adhesive requires solvents such as mineral spirits, Varsol, or xylene.
