Material Use:
SOPREMAPOOL PREMIUM is a high-performance, reinforced PVC membrane designed for waterproofing and finishing swimming pools. It is suitable for both new pool construction and the renovation of existing pools. The membrane provides a durable, watertight lining that enhances the aesthetic and functional qualities of pool surfaces.
System Components:
SOPREMAPOOL PREMIUM is a single-component system composed of a four-layer PVC membrane with a central polyester reinforcement. The top surface is treated with a protective varnish that enhances resistance to chlorine, UV rays, and microbial growth. While no primers or adhesives are specified in the TDS, installation over certain substrates (e.g., polystyrene, resin, paint, or polyester shells) requires the use of a polypropylene geotextile layer beneath the membrane to ensure proper adhesion and protection.
Applications:
This membrane is intended for use in residential, commercial, and public swimming pools. It can be applied over a variety of substrates including reinforced concrete, polypropylene, steel, and wood panels. It is also suitable for use in pools with complex shapes or requiring a high level of waterproofing performance and aesthetic finish.
Application Details:
SOPREMAPOOL PREMIUM is installed by welding the membrane sheets together using an electric hot air welder. The weld area must be clean and dry to ensure a strong, watertight bond. The membrane has a nominal thickness of 1.5 mm (60 mils) and is supplied in rolls measuring 1.65 m x 25 m (5.41 ft x 82 ft). The material weight is approximately 1.80 kg/m² (36.86 lb/100 ft²). Installation should be performed in dry conditions and on clean surfaces.
Special Notes:
- Temperature Limits: The membrane should be stored and handled at temperatures between 10°C and 30°C (50°F to 86°F). The pool water temperature must not exceed 32°C (89.6°F) during use.
- UV and Chemical Resistance: SOPREMAPOOL PREMIUM is UV resistant and has excellent resistance to chlorine and staining agents. It maintains color stability with a grey scale rating of ≥ Degree 3 for chlorine exposure and ≥ Degree 4 for staining agents.
- Microbial Resistance: The membrane is resistant to microorganisms and specific bacteria such as *Streptoverticilium reticulum*, showing no visible staining and minimal mass loss.
- Mechanical Properties: It offers high tensile strength (≥ 1100 N/5 cm), good elongation (15–30%), and excellent tear resistance (≥ 180 N). It also maintains flexibility at low temperatures (cold bend ≤ -25°C / -13°F).
- Welding Strength: Welded seams exhibit strong peel resistance (≥ 80 N/5 cm), ensuring long-term watertight performance.
- Storage: Rolls must be stored horizontally in a dry, shaded area, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
