Description

TECSOUND CLG 3900 is a single-component acrylic compound used as a soundproofing material for walls and ceilings.

UNITS PER SKID: 480

QUANTITY PER PACKAGING: 12 PC

Material Use:

TECSOUND CLG 3900 is a solvent-free, one-component acrylic paste designed for use as a sound-deadening compound in interior construction applications. It functions as a decoupling layer in wall and ceiling assemblies, effectively reducing airborne and impact noise transmission by altering the vibration frequency of the structure, in accordance with the mass-spring-mass principle. It is particularly suitable for use in multi-layer drywall systems where acoustic performance is critical.

System Components:

TECSOUND CLG 3900 is used as a standalone acoustic compound but is typically applied between two layers of gypsum board or other compatible panel materials (e.g., OSB, plywood) to form a complete soundproofing system. No primer is required for application, and it is not used in conjunction with other coatings or sealants. Fasteners are used to mechanically secure the panels after application.

Applications:

This product is intended for indoor use only and is ideal for residential, commercial, and institutional projects requiring enhanced acoustic insulation. It is commonly used in wall and ceiling assemblies in offices, apartments, studios, and other noise-sensitive environments.

Application Details:

TECSOUND CLG 3900 is applied using a standard large-size caulking gun that accommodates 828 ml (28 oz) cartridges. The nozzle should be cut to approximately 6 mm (¼ in.) for proper bead size. Two full cartridges are required per 1.2 m x 2.4 m (4 ft x 8 ft) panel. The compound should be applied in a random, uniform pattern across the panel surface, maintaining a 5 cm (2 in.) margin from the edges to prevent overflow during panel installation. Once applied, the treated panel must be immediately fastened to the existing wall or ceiling surface using appropriate screws as per local building codes.

Special Notes:

- Application Temperature Range: 4 °C to 32 °C (40 °F to 90 °F)

- Service Temperature Range: 0 °C to 50 °C (32 °F to 122 °F)

- Curing Time: 24 to 48 hours

- Pot Life: Not applicable (one-component, ready-to-use product)

- Full Cure Characteristics: The product remains soft after curing, which is essential for its acoustic decoupling function.

- UV Resistance: Not UV stable; indoor use only

- Coverage: 2 cartridges per 1.2 m x 2.4 m (4 ft x 8 ft) panel

- VOC Content: < 1% (very low odor)

- Flame Spread and Smoke Development: Class A (ASTM E84)

- Storage: Store above 0 °C (32 °F); shelf life is 18 months in original packaging

- Cleaning: Tools can be cleaned with soap and water before the product cures

Limitations:

- Not suitable for exterior applications or areas exposed to moisture or UV light.

- Must not be applied at temperatures below 4 °C (40 °F).

- Product remains soft after curing and is not intended for structural bonding or load-bearing applications.

TECSOUND CLG 3900 is a specialized acoustic treatment product that enhances sound insulation performance in multi-layer wall and ceiling assemblies. It is easy to apply, environmentally friendly, and highly effective when used as part of a properly designed soundproofing system.
