Material Use:
URECO FL is a heavy-duty, trowelable, four-component cementitious polyurethane grout system designed for high-build floor repair and re-sloping applications. It is primarily used to fill deep holes, re-pitch floors, and prepare substrates for the application of URECO EG or URECO STS overlayment systems. This product is ideal for industrial environments requiring chemical resistance, thermal shock resistance, and mechanical durability.
System Components:
URECO FL is a four-part system consisting of:
- Part 1: Resin
- Part 2: Hardener
- Part 3: Aggregate
- Part 4: Aggregate
The system must be mixed in full units using a forced circulation pail mixer. The resin and hardener are pre-blended before gradually incorporating the aggregates to achieve a homogeneous mix.
Applications:
URECO FL is suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications, particularly in areas exposed to chemical attack, thermal shock, and mechanical wear. Typical application areas include:
- Food and beverage processing plants
- Chemical processing facilities
- Cook/chill and washdown areas
- Loading docks, ramps, curbs, and bumpers
- Re-sloping for drainage and floor leveling
Application Details:
- Primer Requirement: All surfaces must be primed with either URECO P or ALSAN FLOOR EP101 to ensure proper adhesion. URECO FL must be applied over a tacky primer (8–10 mils thickness), typically 5–30 minutes after primer application.
- Thickness Range: URECO FL is designed for application thicknesses between 1 inch (2.54 cm) and 12 inches (30 cm).
- Coverage: One unit yields approximately 12 square feet at 1-inch thickness or 1 cubic foot per unit.
- Pot Life: Approximately 20 minutes at 25°C. Pot life decreases at higher temperatures.
- Cure Times at 21°C:
- Foot traffic: 4–6 hours
- Re-coat: 8–10 hours
- Full service: 12–16 hours
- Service Temperature Range: -120°F to 220°F, with intermittent exposure up to 260°F (live steam).
- Installation Temperature Range: 5°C to 30°C. Do not apply below 5°C or above 30°C.
- Moisture Limit: Substrate moisture content must not exceed 10%.
- Surface Preparation: Substrate must be clean, dry, sound, and free of contaminants. Mechanical preparation to ICRI CSP 3–6 profile is required using Blastrac, scarifier, or grinder.
- Mixing Instructions: Mix full units only. Premix resin (Part 1), add hardener (Part 2), then gradually add aggregates (Parts 3 and 4) and mix for approximately 2 minutes until homogeneous.
Special Notes:
- URECO FL is compatible with URECO EG and URECO STS, forming a monolithic system from substrate to surface.
- The product is odorless, non-toxic, and does not require ventilation during installation.
- It is resistant to fungi and mold growth and can be applied to concrete as young as 7–10 days old.
- URECO FL is not UV stable and should be overcoated with a UV-resistant topcoat if exposed to sunlight.
- The product must be stored in a dry, cool environment (15°C–21°C). Aggregates must be kept dry to avoid system failure.
- Shelf life: 12 months for resin and hardener; 6 months for aggregates.
- Protective equipment is required during handling. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full safety guidelines.
System Compatibility:
URECO FL is designed to be used as a base or underlayment in conjunction with URECO EG or URECO STS as the final wear surface. It must be applied over URECO P or ALSAN FLOOR EP101 primer for optimal adhesion and performance. This system is ideal for high-performance industrial flooring applications requiring durability, chemical resistance, and thermal shock resistance.
