Description
MPC-130 is a fast curing two component, sag resistant structural epoxy system designed to repair vertical or horizontal cracks. It has excellent adhesion to concrete, masonry, wood, metal and plastics.
Material Use:
MPC-130 is a fast-curing, two-component, sag-resistant structural epoxy formulated for the repair of vertical and horizontal cracks. It is suited for areas requiring high adhesion, structural integrity, and water resistance.
System Components:
- Resin (Component A): 2.58L per gallon kit
- Hardener (Component B): 1.2L per gallon kit
- Mix Ratio: 2:1 by volume (100g resin : 42g hardener by weight)
- No specific primers or topcoats are indicated as required. However, it can be overcoated after 4–6 hours for integrated systems.
Applications:
- Crack filling for vertical and horizontal substrates
- Joint treatment for masonry block and saw cuts
- Wall-to-floor and ceiling junctions
Ideal for use in: - Food processing areas
- Showrooms
- Institutional buildings (universities, hospitals)
- Pharmaceutical facilities
- Residential basements
- Industrial garages and automotive shops
- Commercial and retail centers
Application Details:
- Apply using a spatula or trowel directly into cracks or joints
- For coving/junctions, form a bead and shape using a rounded spoon
- Surface prep must meet ICRI-CSP2 profile via diamond grinding
- Surface must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants
- Mix for 1 minute using a low-speed drill to minimize air entrainment
- Clean tools with xylene before product hardens
- Once cured, removal is only possible mechanically
Special Notes:
- Pot Life: 10–15 minutes for 142g at room temperature
- Recoat Time: 4–6 hours
- Full Cure Protection: Requires 48 hours protection from water, condensation, and moisture
- Temperature Limits: Apply between 10°C (50°F) and 30°C (86°F); optimal 15°C–21°C
- Humidity Limit: Max 85% ambient relative humidity during application and cure
- Substrate Moisture: Must be < 4% with temp ≥ 3°C above dew point
- UV Resistance: Not UV stable; discoloration may occur with UV exposure
- Coverage:
- For 1/8" x 1/8" cracks: approx. 1100 linear feet per gallon (~11.3 ml/m)
- For 1” radius wall/floor junction: approx. 38 linear feet per gallon (~327 ml/m)
Limitations:
- Do not apply on porous surfaces lacking a vapor barrier
- Risk of delamination from hydrostatic pressure if moisture migration is present
- Susceptible to amine blushing during curing if exposed to combustion by-products (e.g., propane heaters)
- Shelf life: 1 year unopened
This material is a dedicated crack repair and junction forming compound, and is best used in conjunction with protective floor coating systems but is not UV resistant or designed as a topcoat. Suitable for areas requiring seamless and waterproof detailing.
