Description
DeckHide is a heavy-duty liquid-applied waterproofing membrane (2-component polyurea) for concrete slabs, designed for seamless joint-free waterproofing including negative-side applications
DeckHide is designed to be a concrete waterproofing membrane.
This material provides exceptional UV stability and chemical resistance with strong abrasion defence under industrial and vehicular traffic. It may be mixed and applied by hand and allows for a full return to service within 4 hours.
Material Use:
DeckHide is designed to be a concrete waterproofing membrane.
The material is a Heavy Duty liquid applied, or continuously applied (no joints) protective coating. When applied in thickness over 30 mills it acts as a heavy duty protective membrane designed to withstand high PH environments and mechanical abrasions. Material is nearly impermeable, which lowers surface maintenance cost and makes it easy to clean in industrial setting.
The membrane use is designed to resist Static Hydraulic pressure, is ideal for negative side waterproofing of large underground concrete structures.
Deck Hide is a 2-component polyurea coating designed to protect and preserve substrates exposed to heavy wear. It's suitable for use in environments requiring high durability, UV stability, and resistance to chemicals and abrasion. Common applications include negative side concrete waterproofing, pedestrian walkways, sports stadiums, parking structures, industrial floors, and phenolic/composite panels.
System Components:
- Part A: Hardener
- Part B: Resin
- Mix Ratio: 1 part A to 2 parts B by volume
- Standard color: Concrete Gray (custom colors available upon request)
- Packaging: 5-gallon pails, 50-gallon drums, 250-gallon totes
Applications:
- Concrete waterproofing
- Negative side waterproofing, resistance to static hydraulic pressure
- Pedestrian and vehicular decks
- Exterior applications needing UV stability
- Industrial and commercial traffic areas
- Can be broadcast with non-slip aggregates for safety
Application Details:
- Surface Prep: Must be clean and free from oil, grease, curing compounds, and loose materials. Acceptable methods: water blasting, sandblasting, shot blasting.
- Installation Temperature Range: 40°F to 120°F
- Mixing: Thoroughly mix resin side (Part B) before adding Hardener (Part A). Ensure uniformity in color and viscosity.
- Application Equipment: No special tools required; can be hand-batch mixed or applied using 2K machines.
- Recoat Window: Minimum 35 minutes at >60°F
- Return to Service: 4 hours at >60°F
- Pot Life (Working Time): 15–20 minutes depending on temperature
- One coat thickness: up to 70 mils
- Coverage: Approx. 22.9 ft² per gallon at 70 mils (based on 1,604 mil·ft²/gal)
Special Notes:
- UV Stability: UV and color stable—suitable for exterior use
- Curing: Rapid return to service—supports vehicular traffic within 4 hours
- Shelf Life: 12 months (in original, unopened container between 60°F–80°F)
- Adhesion Strength:
- Concrete (clean): >800 psi with cohesive failure—excellent bond
- Asphalt: >400 psi—excellent bond
- Phenolic: >400 psi—excellent bond
- Hardness: Shore D 79
- Tensile Strength: 6937 psi ±200
- Elongation: >7%
- Abrasion Resistance: 75 mg/1000 cycles (Taber CS18)
- Heat Deflection Temperature: 180°F–200°F
Deck Hide is ideally suited as a heavy-duty protective coating where fast turnaround, UV stability, and mechanical resilience are critical. It is particularly effective when non-slip textures are needed and can be applied in a wide range of environmental conditions.
