Description
Developed specifically for sealing, smoothing and fairing applications on concrete, metals, plastics (FRP), wood or masonry, Armorseal® Crack Filler has smooth consistency and excellent non-sagging properties that allow it to be used on vertical and horizontal surfaces. The material must be sanded prior to finish coating.
Material Use:
ArmorSeal Crack Filler is a solvent-free, two-component, fast-set epoxy paste designed for smoothing, sealing, and fairing concrete, metals, plastics (FRP), wood, or masonry surfaces. It is especially useful for filling hairline cracks, bug holes, gouges, pits, and voids in applications where substrate movement is minimal.
System Components:
- Primer (optional): ArmorSeal 33 Epoxy (reduced) or Recoatable Epoxy Primer for steel.
- Base Layer / Filler: ArmorSeal Crack Filler (trowel-applied).
- Topcoat (if coating required): ArmorSeal 1000HS Epoxy (1–2 coats).
Applications:
- Concrete and Masonry: Filling and smoothing cracks, voids, anchor-bolt holes, etc.
- Steel and Metals: Smoothing weld seams, pits, and surface irregularities.
- Wood (interior): Filling gouges and defects before coating.
Application Details:
- Mix Ratio: 1:1 by volume (Part A and Part B)
- Application Tools: Putty knife, spatula, fairing tools (brush not recommended)
- Substrate Prep:
- Concrete: SSPC-SP13/NACE 6, ICRI CSP 1-3, cured 28 days minimum
- Steel: SSPC-SP6/NACE 3 minimum (SP10/NACE 2 preferred)
- Wood: Sanded, clean, dry, free of oils and dirt
- Application Thickness:
- Max 3/4" on vertical surfaces
- Max 2" on horizontal surfaces
- Coverage Rate: Approx. 462 cubic inches per 2-gallon kit
- Dry Times at 72°F / 50% RH:
- Touch: 1 hour
- Sand/Recoat: After 2 hours
- Full Cure: 24 hours
- Pot Life: 10–15 minutes
- Recoat Compatibility: Can be recoated immediately with 100% solids coatings
- Surface must be sanded before applying finish coats
- Clean Up: Reducer #54, R7K54
Environmental Limitations:
- Application Temp: 55°F (13°C) min to 95°F (35°C) max (air, material, and surface)
- Humidity Limit: Max 85% RH
- Must be applied 5°F above dew point

Special Notes:
- Do not tint.
- The product is non-toxic, solvent-free, and exhibits excellent resistance to saltwater, oils, fuels, and chemicals.
- Not UV stable or UV resistant—requires a compatible topcoat for exposed applications.
- Do not apply beyond pot life; do not mix previously catalyzed material with fresh mix.
- Sanding or abrasion is mandatory prior to top coating.
