Description
Pro Industrial™ Acrylic is designed for interior and exterior industrial and commercial applications.
Material Use:
Pro Industrial Acrylic Eg-Shel is a high-performance, single-component, 100% acrylic coating designed for both interior and exterior use in commercial and industrial environments. It is ideal for applications requiring chemical resistance, early moisture resistance, and flash rust protection. The product is suitable for use in USDA-inspected facilities and offers a smooth, easy-to-apply finish.
System Components:
This coating system may include various primers and surface conditioners depending on the substrate. The Pro Industrial Acrylic Eg-Shel serves as the topcoat in all systems. Recommended primers and base coats include:
- Steel: Pro Industrial Pro-Cryl Primer, DTM Primer/Finish, Kem Bond HS, or Zinc Clad Primer
- Aluminum: Pro Industrial Pro-Cryl Primer (optional)
- Concrete Block (CMU): Pro Industrial Heavy Duty Block Filler or Loxon Acrylic Block Surfacer
- Concrete/Masonry: Loxon Concrete & Masonry Primer or Loxon Conditioner
- Drywall: ProMar 200 Zero V.O.C. Primer
- Pre-Finished Siding: Pro Industrial Bond-Plex Waterbased Acrylic or DTM Bonding Primer
- Wood (Exterior): Exterior Wood Primer
- Wood (Interior): Premium Wall & Wood Primer
Applications:
Pro Industrial Acrylic Eg-Shel is suitable for a wide range of substrates including steel, galvanized metal, aluminum, drywall, concrete, masonry, plaster, and wood. It is commonly used in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and institutional settings where durability, chemical resistance, and aesthetic finish are required.

- Curing Time: Full cure typically achieved after several days depending on environmental conditions
- Application Temperature Range: Minimum 50°F (10°C), maximum 120°F (49°C); surface must be at least 5°F above dew point
- Relative Humidity Limit: Maximum 85%
- Reducer/Cleanup: Water; clean tools and equipment with soap and warm water immediately after use
Special Notes:
- This product is not UV-stable in the sense of long-term exterior gloss retention but is suitable for exterior use.
- For best performance, especially on steel, a primer is strongly recommended to prevent pinpoint rusting.
- Brush or roller application may require multiple coats to achieve uniform appearance and film build.
- Overspray on hot surfaces must be removed immediately to prevent adhesion.
- The product complies with major environmental regulations including LEED v4/v4.1, CARB, SCAQMD, and is EPD-NSF® certified.
- Surface preparation is critical for performance. All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants. Specific SSPC standards apply for steel and galvanized surfaces.
- Not recommended for application immediately after rain or during foggy weather. Do not apply to wet surfaces.
- The product has excellent adhesion (ASTM D4541: 1014 psi), corrosion resistance, and flexibility (ASTM D522: Pass at 1/8" mandrel).
- Dry heat resistance up to 300°F and good water vapor permeability (33.31 grains/(hr·ft²·in Hg)).
This material is best used as a finish coat in a multi-layer system tailored to the substrate, with appropriate primers and fillers to ensure adhesion, durability, and performance in demanding environments.
