Description

Pro Industrial™ Waterbased Acrolon™ 100 is an advanced technology, less than 100 grams per liter V.O.C., waterbased, acrylic urethane. It provides performance properties comparable to premium quality solvent-based urethanes. This is an abrasion resistant urethane that has excellent weathering properties.

Material Use:

Pro Industrial Acrolon 100 is a high-performance, water-based acrylic urethane coating designed for use in commercial and industrial environments. It provides a semi-gloss finish with excellent abrasion resistance, weathering durability, and chemical resistance. This product is suitable for both interior and exterior applications and is compliant with stringent VOC regulations (less than 100 g/L). It is ideal for use in USDA-inspected and Canadian food processing facilities (non-food contact areas).

System Components:

This is a two-component system mixed at a 6:1 ratio by volume (Part A: Part B). It may be used as a topcoat over a variety of primers and base coats depending on the substrate. The system may also include intermediate coats such as epoxies for enhanced performance. The Ultradeep Tint Base (B65T00524) can be used as a clear coat.

Applications:

Pro Industrial Acrolon 100 is suitable for a wide range of substrates including steel, aluminum, galvanized metal, concrete, CMU (concrete masonry units), drywall, and pre-finished siding. It is commonly used in commercial buildings, healthcare cleanrooms, food processing facilities (non-food contact), and other high-performance environments requiring durability and chemical resistance.

Application Details:

- Mixing Ratio: 6 parts Part A to 1 part Part B by volume. Mix thoroughly before use.

- Application Methods: Airless spray, brush, or roller. For brush and roller, reduce 5–15% with water.

- Recommended Film Thickness:

- Wet: 4.0–8.0 mils

- Dry: 1.7–3.4 mils

- Coverage: 200–400 sq. ft. per gallon depending on substrate and application method.

- Pot Life:

- 55°F: 3 hours

- 77°F: 2.5 hours

- 120°F: 1 hour

- Dry Time (at 5.0 mils wet, 50% RH):

- Touch: 1.5 hours at 77°F

- Handle: 6 hours at 77°F

- Recoat: Minimum 8 hours, Maximum 3 months (surface abrasion required if exceeded)

- Full Cure: 10 days at 77°F

- Temperature & Humidity Limits:

- Application temperature: 55°F to 120°F (air, surface, and material)

- Must be at least 5°F above dew point

- Maximum relative humidity: 85%

- UV Resistance: UV stable after cure

- Cleanup: Soap and warm water immediately after use. Flush spray equipment with compliant solvent to prevent rust.

Special Notes:

- This product is compliant with LEED® v4 & v4.1 VOC and emissions standards.

- It is MPI® certified (#255) and suitable for use in USDA and Canadian food processing facilities (non-food contact).

- Excellent chemical resistance to acids, bases, alcohols, oils, and cleaning agents.

- Surface preparation is critical for performance. Follow SSPC and ICRI guidelines for each substrate.

- For previously painted or treated surfaces, always test adhesion with a patch test before full application.

- Do not apply below minimum temperature or above maximum recommended film thickness to avoid performance issues.

- If maximum recoat window is exceeded, surface must be abraded before recoating.

- Not EPD-NSF® certified or listed in the Manufacturer Inventory (MIR).

This product is ideal for use as a final topcoat in multi-layer systems where durability, chemical resistance, and UV stability are required. It pairs well with epoxy primers and intermediate coats for enhanced corrosion protection and mechanical performance.
