Material Use:
ALSAN BOND POOL 410 is a single-component, solvent-based contact adhesive formulated with nitrile rubber. It is specifically designed for bonding SOPREMA’s flexible PVC pool membranes in complex or detailed areas such as stairs, curves, and rounded shapes. Its primary function is to secure the membrane in place during welding and filling operations, ensuring precise and stable installation.
System Components:
ALSAN BOND POOL 410 is used as part of a waterproofing and lining system in conjunction with SOPREMA’s flexible PVC pool membranes. It is not a standalone waterproofing product but serves as a critical bonding component within the SOPREMA pool membrane system. It does not require a primer but must be used on solvent-resistant substrates. The adhesive is applied to both the substrate and the underside of the PVC membrane to ensure a strong bond.
Applications:
This adhesive is ideal for use in swimming pool construction and renovation, particularly in areas requiring detailed membrane application such as steps, corners, and curved surfaces. It is suitable for bonding to rigid substrates including concrete, raw or PVC-coated metals, polyester, rigid PVC, OSB panels, and plywood. It should not be used on EPS/XPS insulation, polyethylene, or bituminous surfaces.
Application Details:
ALSAN BOND POOL 410 is applied using a roller or brush. Before application, the adhesive should be mixed with a low-speed mechanical stirrer until homogeneous. On highly absorbent substrates, a preliminary coat should be applied and allowed to dry for approximately 20 minutes. The adhesive must be applied to both the substrate and the membrane, avoiding overlap areas to allow for proper hot air welding. After application, wait approximately 2 minutes until the adhesive is tack-free, then join the surfaces within 5 to 7 minutes. Apply pressure with a roller to ensure full adhesion. Overlaps should be welded with a hot air welder. Avoid stressing the bonded areas for 24 hours; full adhesion strength is achieved after 48 hours.

- Pot Life / Open Time: 5 to 7 minutes at 23°C (73°F), 50% RH
- Dry to Touch Time: 2 to 3 minutes
- Full Cure Time: 48 hours
- UV Resistance: Not specified; as it is used beneath membranes, UV exposure is not expected
- Coverage: One 5 L can covers approximately 17 to 21 m² (183 to 226 ft²), depending on substrate porosity and application method
- Storage: Store in original unopened container for up to 24 months in a dry, shaded area between 5°C and 25°C (41°F and 77°F)
- Cleaning: Uncured adhesive can be cleaned with mineral spirits, Varsol, or xylene
