Hardener for the Pro Industrial™ Acrolon 100 HS Waterbased Urethane product line.
Material Use:
Pro Industrial Acrolon 100 is a high-performance, water-based acrylic urethane coating designed for use in commercial and industrial environments. It offers excellent abrasion resistance, weathering durability, and chemical resistance, making it suitable for both interior and exterior applications. This product is ideal for use in facilities requiring low-VOC coatings, including USDA-inspected and Canadian food processing facilities (non-food contact areas).
System Components:
Pro Industrial Acrolon 100 is a two-component system mixed at a 6:1 ratio by volume (Part A: B65–420 Series, Part B: B65V00620). It may be used as a topcoat over a variety of primers and base coats depending on the substrate. The system may also include intermediate coats such as Macropoxy® 646-100 for enhanced corrosion protection.
Applications:
This coating is suitable for a wide range of substrates including steel, aluminum, galvanized metal, concrete, CMU (concrete masonry units), drywall, and pre-finished siding. It is commonly used in commercial buildings, healthcare cleanrooms, industrial facilities, and food processing environments (non-food contact).
Application Details:
- Mixing Ratio: 6 parts Part A to 1 part Part B by volume. Mix thoroughly before use.
- Pot Life: 2.5 hours at 77°F (shorter at higher temperatures).
- Application Methods: Airless spray, brush, or roller.
- Reducer: Water; up to 15% by volume for brush/roller applications.
- Recommended Wet Film Thickness: 4.0–8.0 mils
- Recommended Dry Film Thickness: 1.8–3.5 mils
- Coverage: 200–400 sq. ft. per gallon depending on substrate and application method.
- Dry Time at 77°F / 50% RH:
- To touch: 1.5 hours
- To handle: 6 hours
- Recoat window: Minimum 8 hours, maximum 3 months (surface abrasion required if exceeded)
- Full cure: 10 days
- Temperature Range for Application: 55°F to 120°F (air, surface, and material)
- Humidity Limit: Maximum 85% RH
- Dew Point: Surface temperature must be at least 5°F above dew point
- UV Resistance: Excellent weathering properties; suitable for exterior use
- Shelf Life: 24 months unopened

Special Notes:
- The Ultradeep Tint Base (B65T00424) can be used as a clear coat.
- Brush or roller application may require multiple coats to achieve uniform appearance and film build.
- If the maximum recoat window of 3 months is exceeded, surface abrasion is required before recoating.
- Not recommended for immersion service.
- Excellent chemical resistance to acids, bases, alcohols, oils, and cleaning agents.
- Dry film heat resistance up to 250°F.
- Surface preparation is critical for performance; follow SSPC and ICRI guidelines for each substrate.
- For mildew-prone areas, pre-clean with a bleach solution (1:3 bleach to water) and rinse thoroughly.
- Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with soap and warm water.
