ALSAN TRAFIK PU 424 is a two-component aromatic polyurethane resin, free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), odourless and 100% solids.

ALSAN TRAFIK PU 424 is a two-component, 100% solids, aromatic polyurethane resin designed as a wearing and finishing layer in vehicular and pedestrian traffic systems. It is primarily used as the topcoat in the ALSAN TRAFIK waterproofing system for interior parking decks. This product is VOC-free, odourless, and offers excellent mechanical properties, making it suitable for high-performance traffic-bearing surfaces.
System Components:
ALSAN TRAFIK PU 424 is used in conjunction with the following system components:
- Primers: ALSAN TRAFIK PU 122 or ALSAN FLOOR EP 101
- Base Coat / Waterproofing Membrane: ALSAN TRAFIK PU 221
- Topcoat / Wearing Surface: ALSAN TRAFIK PU 424
- Optional Aggregate: Silica sand (24 to 32 mesh) for non-slip finishes
These components form a complete system tailored for different levels of vehicular and pedestrian traffic, including ALSAN TRAFIK BASE, ALSAN TRAFIK GRIP, and ALSAN TRAFIK HP.
Applications:
ALSAN TRAFIK PU 424 is intended for use on interior parking decks and other indoor vehicular traffic areas. It is suitable for light to heavy vehicular traffic depending on the system configuration and aggregate saturation. The product is not UV stable and is therefore restricted to interior applications only.
Application Details:
- Mixing Ratio: Part A : Part B = 3.36 : 1 by volume
- Application Method: Apply with a notched squeegee and level with a roller
- Recommended Thickness: 508 µm (20 mils) wet film thickness
- Coverage Rate: One 5-gallon kit (18.9 L) covers approximately 400 ft² (37.2 m²) at 20 mils
- Application Temperature: Minimum 5 °C (41 °F) and must be maintained throughout curing
- Pot Life: 60 minutes at 20 °C (68 °F) for a 250 g mix
- Curing Time:
- Interlayer recoat: 8–10 hours
- Light traffic: 24 hours
- Full cure: 7 days
- Non-Slip Finish: Achieved by adding silica sand depending on traffic type
- Cleaning: Tools can be cleaned with ALSAN RS CLEANER, acetone, or petroleum solvents
Special Notes:
- ALSAN TRAFIK PU 424 is not UV stable and must only be used in interior applications.
- The product must be applied over fully cured primers or waterproofing membranes.
- For optimal performance, ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and properly primed.
- The final color may vary slightly due to curing conditions, application technique, and aggregate content.
- Storage temperature must not fall below 10 °C (50 °F), and the product has a shelf life of 12 months in original containers.
- The product exhibits excellent mechanical properties including 60% elongation, 15 MPa tensile strength, and 40 kN/m tear strength.
- ALSAN TRAFIK PU 424 passes crack bridging tests and has a low water absorption rate of 0.66%.
This material is ideal for use in structured parking systems where a durable, seamless, and chemical-resistant surface is required. It integrates seamlessly with other ALSAN TRAFIK components to form a robust waterproofing and traffic-bearing system.
