CCS Coating, High Chemical Resistance

A two-component, rigid epoxy coating designed for environments exposed to strong acids, bases, industrial chemicals, and various fluids such as fuels and lubricants. It is particularly suitable for use in sewer and wastewater treatment facilities and secondary containment areas.

·         Part A (Resin): Concrete beige-gray

·         Part B (Hardener): Clear amber

·         Mix Ratio: 2:1 by volume (100:35 by weight)

·         No primer is required.

·         May be combined with aggregate (#20 x 0 or #30 x 50 mesh) for slip/skid resistance.

·         Concrete, steel, and wood surfaces (when properly prepared)

·         Industrial and chemical containment areas

·         Outdoor environments (UV exposure may cause chalking)

·         Not suitable for wet substrate application

·         Application Methods: Brush, roller, squeegee, or two-component spray

·         Recommended Coating Thickness:

o        Floor/wall coatings: 2 coats, 6–8 mils each

o        Floor surfacing: 20–30 mils per coat

·         Recoat Windows:

o        60°F: 8–72 hours

o        73°F: 4–24 hours

o        90°F: 2–10 hours

·         Aggregate Broadcast: 0.75–1.50 lb/sq ft (if used)

·         Coverage:

o        15 mils: 105 sq ft/gal

o        20 mils: 80 sq ft/gal

o        25 mils: 64 sq ft/gal

o        30 mils: 53 sq ft/gal

·         Pot Life: ~37 minutes (200 g mass at standard temperature)

·         Cure Time: Touch dry in ~6–7 hours @70°F

·         Minimum Installation Temperature: 50°F

·         Surface Preparation:

o        Concrete: Sound, dry or damp (not wet), free of bond inhibitors (ASTM D 4259 or ACI 503R)

o        Steel: SSPC SP 5 white metal blast

·         Environmental Limits:

o        Substrates must be above 50°F and have peaked in temperature for the day

o        Vapor barriers are required for below-grade installations to prevent blistering

·         UV Exposure: Coating is freeze/thaw resistant and does not embrittle, but may chalk slightly in sunlight

·         Storage/Shelf Life: 3 years unopened, stored at 60–90°F

·         Chemical Resistance: Excellent for inorganic acids (up to 25%), alkalis, many organic acids, and industrial fluids. Limited resistance to hydrocarbon solvents. For highly corrosive chemicals or hot water >140°F, exposure should be limited or tested.
