Description

Material Use:

CCS Grout, Dowel/Rebar/Bolt, LWL is a two-component, high-modulus, epoxy paste adhesive designed for anchoring dowels, rebar, and bolts into concrete, masonry, and stone. It is suitable for use in high ambient temperatures or where extended working time and curing cycles are required. Additionally, it is used for bonding hardened concrete, masonry, and stone to themselves or to each other, as well as for bonding steel plates in reinforcement applications.

System Components:

This system consists of two parts:

·         Part A: Liquid epoxy resin (white)

·         Part B: Epoxy hardener (black)

The mix ratio is 1:1 by volume, producing a concrete blue-gray mixed product.

Applications:

Typical applications include:

·         Grouting of dowels, rebar, and bolts into horizontal or vertical concrete holes.

·         Bonding of concrete, masonry, or stone in structural repairs.

·         Steel plate bonding for external reinforcement.

Application Details:

·         Surface Preparation: Surfaces must be sound, free of bond-inhibiting substances, and prepared according to ASTM D 4259 or ACI 503R. Clean concrete should have a minimum direct tensile strength of 250 psi. Steel should be cleaned to “white metal” per SSPC SP 5.

·         Mixing & Application: Mix components using a Jiffy mixer at 350–750 rpm for 2–3 minutes. Use quantities that can be applied within the pot life. When grouting into holes, fill approximately 40% of the hole volume, insert the element while rotating to expel air, and ensure central placement. For surface bonding, apply with a trowel and press surfaces together to establish uniform bond line.

Special Notes:

·         Pot Life: 130 minutes at 73°F; 30 minutes at 105°F.

·         Curing Time: Achieves test properties after 7 days at 73°F.

·         Temperature Limits: Install above 60°F; max service temperature should be no more than 20°F below the HDT of 145°F in load-bearing applications.

·         Non-sag Thickness: Holds up to 1/4 inch without sag.

·         UV Resistance: Not specifically noted; not indicated as UV stable.

·         Coverage: Application into holes should use approx. 40% of the hole volume.

·         Chemical Resistance: Excellent against a range of chemicals, including acids, bases, oils, and fluids, but dependent on specific conditions and concentration.

·         Shelf Life: Minimum of three years in original, unopened containers stored between 60–90°F.

·         Safety: Part A is a moderate hazard; Part B is a serious hazard—use protective equipment and adequate ventilation.
