Description
CCS Low Viscosity IR – Injection Resin, Ultra Low Viscosity Structural Epoxy Adhesive
CCS Low Viscosity IR is a two-component, solvent-free structural epoxy adhesive formulated for pressure injection and gravity feed applications. It is designed to penetrate and repair hairline cracks as fine as 2 mils (0.05 mm) in concrete, masonry, stone, wood, and CFRP. It is also used for anchoring bolts, dowels, and rebar, grouting under equipment, and external reinforcement bonding.
· Part A (Resin): Clear amber
· Part B (Hardener): Dark purple
· Mixed Product: Dark purple epoxy adhesive
· Mix Ratio: 2:1 by volume (100:43 by weight)
· Available in kits (3, 15, and 150 gallons) and cartridges
· Structural crack repair in concrete, masonry, and wood
· Filling porous or honeycombed concrete
· Anchoring bolts and reinforcement steel (e.g., dowels, rebar)
· External reinforcement using steel plates or CFRP
· Grouting tight voids and delaminations
· Suitable for dry, damp, wet, or underwater conditions
· Minimum Crack Width: 2 mils (0.05 mm)
· Maximum Application Thickness: 1/4 inch (6.35 mm); for thicker sections, pre-fill with uniformly sized aggregate
· Installation Temperature Range: Minimum 40°F (4.4°C); for other ranges, alternative ChemCo IR variants are recommended
· Gel Time: 85 minutes at 40°F (4°C); 21 minutes at 73°F (23°C) for 100 g mass
· Full Cure: 7 days at 73°F (23°C)
· Pot Life: Not explicitly stated, inferred by gel time
· Compressive Strength: 14,400 psi
· Bond Strength (to wet concrete): 3,240 psi at 2 days; 3,330 psi at 14 days
· Tensile Strength: 9,360 psi
· Flexural Strength: 10,800 psi
· Elongation at Break: 2.4%
· Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT): 140°F (60°C) – maximum service temp should be 20°F below HDT
· Viscosity: 200 cps mixed; increases to 1,150 cps at 40°F
· Adhesion to Substrates: Strong bond to concrete, stone, masonry, wood, steel, and CFRP
· Not UV resistant; no mention of UV stability after cure
· Do not add solvents; thinning not permitted
· Avoid use above 1/4” thickness unless aggregate is added to prevent thermal buildup
· Excellent chemical resistance to a broad range of acids, bases, and industrial fluids, but limited resistance to hydrocarbon solvents
· Surface prep must meet ICRI CSP 2 to CSP 4 for concrete and SSPC-SP 5/NACE No. 1 for steel
· Recommended for professional application under ChemCo guidance
· Storage: 3 years in unopened containers between 60–90°F (15.6–32.2°C), avoid freezing
