Description
CCS Standard IR – Injection Resin (Structural Epoxy Adhesive). CCS Standard IR is a two-component, high-strength structural epoxy resin formulated specifically for pressure injection grouting. It is primarily used for structural crack repair and delamination bonding in concrete, masonry, stone, wood, and for anchoring bolts, dowels, and CFRP (carbon fiber-reinforced polymer). The product is suitable for void filling in porous or honeycombed substrates and external reinforcement applications.
This system comprises two parts:
· Part A (Resin) – Clear amber
· Part B (Hardener) – Dark purple
When mixed at a 2:1 volume ratio (or 100:43 by weight), the combined resin becomes a dark purple adhesive.
· Structural crack injection and delamination bonding in concrete, masonry, and wood
· Filling honeycombed concrete and grout voids
· Anchoring steel elements into concrete and masonry
· Bonding CFRP and steel plates for reinforcement
· Grouting under equipment where tight load-bearing voids exist
· Suitable for damp, wet, and even underwater substrates
· Minimum Installation Temperature: 40°F (4°C)
· Working Temperature Range: Best performance from 50°F (10°C) to 90°F (32°C); for higher temperatures use HiAmb IR variant
· Gel Time: 14 minutes at 73°F (23°C); 35 minutes at 50°F (10°C) for a 100g mass
· Installation Thickness: Up to 1/4 inch (6.35 mm); above this, use pre-placed aggregate to dissipate exothermic heat
· Bond Strength (moist cure): 2,790 psi at 2 days; 3,510 psi at 14 days
· Tensile Strength: 9,180 psi
· Flexural Strength: 10,800 psi
· Compressive Strength: 14,850 psi
· Viscosity: Mixed viscosity is 350 cp at 73°F and 1,400 cp at 50°F
· Pot Life: Dependent on temperature; short at warmer temperatures
· Full Cure Time: Refer to structural strength benchmarks at 2 and 14 days
· Shelf Life: 3 years in unopened containers (60–90°F storage)
· UV Stability: Not specified; designed for internal or protected structural applications
· Surface Prep: CSP 2–4 profile required per ICRI 310.2R; clean to white metal for steel (SSPC-SP5/NACE No. 1)
· Avoid freezing, do not thin with solvents
· For very narrow cracks, use CCS Low Viscosity IR
· For elevated temperatures, use CCS HiAmb IR
· For large voids, consider CCS Low Exotherm IR
· For non-sealable cracks, use CCS Slump Pumping IR
· Not intended for service temperatures above 120°F (i.e., 20°F below its HDT of 140°F)
Coverage
This material does not provide coverage in gal/ft² or mils, as it is an injection resin. Coverage is dependent on void volume and crack geometry. Estimate volume and consult ChemCo Systems for job-specific quantities.
