Description
CCSTM Bonder Paste, Traffic Marker is a two-component, non-sag epoxy paste adhesive specifically formulated for bonding traffic markers, preformed curbs, and car stops to pavement surfaces. This adhesive is ideal for use in parking lots and similar areas, meeting the State of California Specification 8040-51M-09 for "Standard Set Epoxy Adhesive for Pavement Markers."
This is a standalone epoxy adhesive system composed of two parts—Part A (epoxy resin) and Part B (epoxy hardener)—with a 1:1 mix ratio by volume. The mixed product has a buttery consistency facilitating ease of application and minimizing waste. No additional primers or top coats are used in this system.
It is suitable for use on concrete, masonry, stone, and asphalt substrates, provided they are surface dry. Its high chemical resistance makes it suitable for environments where exposure to deicing chemicals, salts, and automotive or aircraft fluids is expected.
· Mixing Ratio: 1:1 by volume (100:102 by weight).
· Pot Life / Gel Time: 10 minutes at standard lab conditions (120g mass).
· Curing Times:
o Initial Set to Bear Traffic: 2 hours @ 90°F, 4 hours @ 70°F, 7 hours @ 50°F
o Full Cure: 24 hours
· Substrate Preparation: Surface must be dry, clean, and free from bond-inhibiting substances. A minimum direct tensile strength of 250 psi is required for concrete surfaces.
· Installation Limitations:
o Temperature: Minimum 50°F, Maximum 100°F substrate temperature during application.
o Humidity: Substrate must be dry; do not apply under damp conditions.
· Mixing Instructions: Premix components before combining. Use a low-speed mixer (350–750 rpm) and mix for 2–3 minutes. Hand-mixing should be limited to one quart per batch.
· Application: Apply uniformly to cleaned surface or traffic marker base. Ensure full contact coverage with slight excess after pressing marker into place.
· Clean-up: Use acetone or epoxy strippers for uncured material; cured adhesive requires soaking tools in epoxy stripper.
· Shelf Life: Minimum of three years in unopened containers stored at 60–90°F.
· Environmental & Safety: Solvent-free with no VOCs. Part A is moderately hazardous, and Part B is seriously hazardous and corrosive. Use PPE and adequate ventilation during application.
· Color: Mixed material appears concrete gray (blue-gray).
Packaging: Available in 2 and 10-gallon kits
