Description

Material Use:

This is a high heat deflection temperature (HDT) two-component epoxy coating specifically designed for use in environments with strong industrial chemicals and elevated temperatures. It is suitable for exposure to acids, bases, fuels, lubricants, and hydraulic fluids, offering excellent chemical resistance and bonding to both dry and damp concrete or metal surfaces.

System Components:

The system consists of two components mixed at a 2:1 ratio by volume (Part A: resin; Part B: hardener). The material cures to a hard, tile-like surface without requiring a primer. Aggregates may be added for floor surfacing, using a #20 x 0 or #30 x 50 mesh size at a broadcast rate of 0.75–1.50 lb/sq ft.

Applications:

Ideal for industrial flooring and wall coatings in areas where resistance to chemicals and high temperatures is necessary, including chemical processing, aviation maintenance, and automotive service facilities. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations due to its UV resistance and freeze/thaw stability.

Application Details:

·         Mixing & Installation: Mix parts A and B using a Jiffy mixer at 350–750 rpm for 2–3 minutes. Apply 2–3 coats at 10 mils per coat for wall/floor coatings or 20–30 mils per coat for surfacing. Use short nap roller, squeegee, or two-component spray. Additional coats may be applied when touch-dry (6–7 hrs at 70°F).

·         Coverage: Approximate yield per gallon is 105 ft² at 15 mils, 80 ft² at 20 mils, 64 ft² at 25 mils, and 53 ft² at 30 mils.

·         Curing: Pot life is approximately 20 minutes for 200g. Recoat time varies with temperature: 8–72 hrs at 60°F, 4–24 hrs at 73°F, 2–10 hrs at 90°F. Full cure can be enhanced by post-curing at 150°F for 24 hours.

·         Environmental Limits: Do not apply on wet substrates. Minimum installation and cure temperature is 50°F. Apply after peak daily substrate temperatures. Substrates must have a vapor barrier to prevent blistering/delamination.

Special Notes:

·         This material does not require a primer.

·         UV resistant – will not embrittle under sunlight exposure.

·         Do not add solvents or thin the material.

·         Store between 60–90°F, shelf life is minimum 3 years in original unopened containers.

·         Not suitable for prolonged exposure to high concentrations of hydrocarbon solvents or highly corrosive chemicals without prior testing.
