Description
ConFlex Flexible Concrete Waterproofer provides a slip-resistent, breathable finish designed to protect concrete surfaces from water intrusion. Available in both smooth and textured finishes. It is a waterbased coating that offers versatility for residential areas and usage. It can be used as a stand-alone product or overcoated for maximum protection in high traffic areas. It is easily applied and comes in a variety of colors.
Material Use
ConFlex is a flexible, breathable acrylic-based waterproof coating designed for interior and exterior applications on concrete and masonry. It is formulated for use on above or on-grade concrete surfaces including foundations, block walls, balconies, window and door openings, walkways, parapets, and planter boxes.
System Components
- Base Coating: ConFlex Flexible Concrete Waterproofer applied in 2 coats at 10–12 wet mils each.
- Optional Top Coat (for added durability and cleanability):
- H&C Clarishield Waterbased Wet Look Sealer – recommended for low to medium pedestrian traffic areas.
- Slip Resistance Additive: H&C SharkGrip Slip Resistant Additive may be added to the final coat for safety enhancement.
Applications

Application Details
- Surface Preparation: Thorough cleaning required; removal of loose materials, contaminants, and curing membranes. Use elastomeric patch or sealant for cracks and voids.
- Priming: Generally not required over properly prepared surfaces. On fresh CMU (cured less than 30 days), prime with Loxon Acrylic Block Surfacer.
- Application Tools: Nylon-polyester brush, ¾–1½ inch nap roller, or low-pressure texture sprayer with #4 tip orifice. Notched squeegee and back roll recommended to avoid tracking.
- Temperature & Environment: Apply between 50°F–100°F. Avoid application in freezing conditions.
- Dry Time (77°F, 50% RH):
- Touch: 1 hour
- Recoat: 4 hours
- Foot Traffic: 24 hours

- Wet Mils: 10–12
- Dry Mils: 5.1–6.1
- Coverage: 135–160 sq. ft./gal (varies by texture and substrate)

Special Notes
- Not UV Rated: UV stability not specified; overcoat recommended for exposure durability.

Limitations:
- Not suitable for roofing, below-grade, underwater, or vehicular traffic applications.
- Does not withstand hydrostatic pressure; not for bridging dynamic joints or cracks.
- Safety Notes: Avoid inhalation of dust when sanding; contains crystalline silica and zinc. Proper ventilation and PPE required.
- Environmental Compliance: VOC < 50 g/L; compliant with OTC, CARB, SCAQMD, LEED VOC criteria.
