Description
Enviro-Shield® 1005 is a waterborne UV-stable, aliphatic polyurethane topcoat / sealer coat. The waterborne coating has been shpecially formulated as a durable, color-stable, abrasion resistant topcoat for wood and for re-sealing existing polyurethane/polyurea surfaces.
Material Use
Enviro-Shield 1005 is a waterborne, UV-stable, aliphatic polyurethane topcoat used primarily as a sealer over polyurethane and epoxy coatings. It is designed for color retention, abrasion resistance, and flexibility in environments subject to temperature fluctuations. Ideal for re-sealing existing polyurethane or polyurea-coated surfaces, it also serves as a finish layer over wood, concrete, and plywood in areas subjected to heavy pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
System Components
This material can be used as part of a coating system with epoxy or polyurethane base coats. For post-finish applications, Enviro-Shield 1005 must be combined with a Crosslinker at a mix ratio of 20:1 (1 gallon of sealer to 6.4 oz of Crosslinker). It can be applied over cured polyurethane bases within 4 hours or epoxy coatings within 24 hours of application, provided the surfaces are clean and uncontaminated.

Application Details
· Application temperature: 60°F to 170°F (15°C to 77°C)
· Pot life: 45–60 minutes once mixed
· Dry time: 24 hours for light traffic, 48 hours for heavy traffic
· Coverage: ~520 sq. ft. per gallon
· Viscosity: 60 ± 10 KU
· Applied using roller, high-pressure spray, or low-pressure cup gun
· Clean tools with soapy water before material dries
· Surface must be dry and clean; avoid contamination from epoxy exudation in damp/cool environments
Special Notes
· UV Stable: Designed for excellent color retention and resistance to weathering; no cracking or blistering observed in 2000-hour QUV exposure tests
· Matte and gloss finishes available; custom colors upon request (minimum 250 gallons)
· Contains isocyanates and solvent – appropriate PPE and ventilation are essential
· Thinning is possible with purified water, but this extends drying time
· Shelf life: 1 year in factory-sealed containers stored at 60°F–95°F (15°C–35°C)
· VOC compliant for SCAQMD areas (0.375 lb/gal or 45 g/L)
