System Components:
The SENTINEL PVC VENT is composed of several integrated components:
- A cylindrical core made of polystyrene, segmented into three removable cylinders of varying diameters (2.5 in, 3.5 in, and 4.5 in) to accommodate different pipe sizes.
- An outer wall and base made of PVC membrane, which is compatible with PVC roofing systems.
- A pre-attached PVC membrane base for hot-air welding to the field membrane.
- An aluminum cap that fits over the vent and is sealed with SENTINEL UNIVERSAL SEALANT.
Applications:
This product is used in low-slope roofing systems where PVC membranes are installed. It is ideal for commercial and industrial flat roofs requiring vent pipe penetrations to be sealed in a durable and watertight manner. The SENTINEL PVC VENT is compatible with SOPREMA SENTINEL PVC roofing membranes and is typically used in conjunction with other SENTINEL system components.
Application Details:
Installation involves cleaning the roof membrane and the base of the SENTINEL PVC VENT with a non-greasy solvent such as acetone or methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). The vent is then slid over the pipe, and unnecessary polystyrene cylinders are removed to fit the pipe diameter. The vent is cut to the desired height, and SENTINEL UNIVERSAL SEALANT is applied inside the aluminum cap before placing it over the vent. The PVC membrane base is then hot-air welded to the field membrane, and the weld is checked for quality using a round-tipped tool.
