Epoxy Coating for Marine Structures

 This is a two-component, solvent-free, non-sag epoxy coating designed specifically for protecting marine structure surfaces, both above and below the waterline. It can be used on concrete, steel, and wood in saltwater and freshwater environments.

 The system comprises a base coat (off-white) and an optional contrasting top coat (blue-gray). The resin (Part A) and hardener (Part B) are mixed in a 1:1 volume ratio.

 Ideal for coating concrete piers, seawalls, dock floors, drainage ditches, abutments, sewer and outfall pipes. It is also used for protecting steel structures like pilings, drilling rigs, platforms, hulls, buoys, and bulkheads. Additionally, it serves wooden marine elements such as piers, shelters, and power poles.

·      Mix Ratio: 1:1 by volume (100:100 by weight)

·      Coverage: Approximately 200 - 350 lineal feet per gallon in crack sealing

·      Minimum Substrate Temperature: 50°F for both installation and curing

·      Pot Life: ~45 minutes (200g mass)

·      Cure Time at 68°F: Soft gel in 4 hours, hard gel in 6 hours, full cure in 7 days

·      Recoat Window: 18-24 hours

·      Application Method: Brush application recommended, with sufficient pressure to displace water when applied underwater. Avoid mixing underwater.

·      Substrate Conditions: Can be applied to dry, damp, wet, immersed, or submerged surfaces. Proper surface preparation is essential—concrete must have at least 200 psi tensile strength, and steel must be cleaned to "white metal" (SSPC SP 5).

·      UV Exposure: The coating is not UV-stable; it will chalk when exposed to sunlight.

·      Environmental Resistance: Excellent resistance to salt and fresh water, gasoline, kerosene, crude, fuel and mineral oils, and many industrial waste solutions. Limited resistance to hydrocarbon solvents.

·      Packaging and Storage: Available in 2, 10, and 100-gallon units. Shelf life is three years when stored in unopened containers at 60–90°F in a dry place.
