Description
Material Use:
Poly-Caulk 82 – 100% Solids, Self-Leveling, Polyurea Caulking Compound
Poly-Caulk 82 is a rapid-setting, two-component, aromatic polyurea formulated for horizontal concrete joint and crack repair. It is designed for both interior and exterior use in environments where minimal downtime is essential. It remains flexible in cold temperatures and complies with VOC and USDA criteria.
System Components:
This is a standalone joint-filling system but may require a primer under certain conditions. Compatible primers include Polyprime 2180 and Polyprime EBF, particularly if the joint is damp before application. It consists of Side-A and Side-B components in a 1:1 volume mix ratio and should be applied using a proportioning pump with a static mixing tube.
Applications:
Commonly used in high-performance and industrial environments, including:
· Airports
· Bridge headers
· Food processing plants
· Freezers and cold storage
· Industrial and manufacturing facilities
· Parking garage decks
· Utility cuts and saw cuts
· Spalls and random cracks
· Truck aprons
· Warehouses
· Wastewater treatment plants
Application Details:
· Surface Prep: Concrete must cure for 28 days. Clean and dry joints are mandatory. Avoid V-grooving; edges must be square cut. For random cracks/spalls, a 2" deep vertical edge must be formed.
· Mixing: Do not dilute. Pre-mix Side-B at low speed.
· Dispensing: Use a 1:1 ratio pump, optionally heated. Material sets in static mixer tube within 30–60 seconds, so tubes must be replaced frequently.
· Application Temp Range: 20°F to 135°F (6.6°C to 57°C); material must be preconditioned to 75–80°F (24–27°C).
· Finishing: Shave excess material flush within 60–90 minutes. Light traffic is possible after ~90 minutes.
· Thickness/Joint Dimensions: Refer to the coverage table on page 1 for yield based on joint width and depth (e.g., 1/2" x 1/2" yields ~77 linear feet per gallon).
Special Notes:
· UV Stability: Not UV stable; discoloration occurs upon UV exposure, though physical properties remain unchanged.
· Pot Life / Gel Time: ~35 ± 5 seconds at 75°F.
· Curing Time: Can be trafficked within 90 minutes.
· Coverage: Variable by joint size (see page 1 table), no general ft²/gal coverage due to joint-specific use.
· Shelf Life: 1 year in factory-sealed containers at 60–95°F.
· Hazards: Contains isocyanates and solvents – professional use only.
