Description

Poly-Caulk® HM (Hand-Mix) is a two component, modified aliphatic, rapid setting, self-leveling, 100% solids polyurea caulking compound.

Material Use:

Poly-Caulk HM (Hand-Mix) – 100% Solids, Self-Leveling Polyurea Caulking Compound

Poly-Caulk HM is a two-component, modified aliphatic, rapid-setting polyurea caulking compound designed for horizontal concrete surfaces. It is intended for small repairs such as sealing random cracks and control joints in both interior and exterior applications, particularly where rapid return to service is needed.

System Components:

This is a standalone two-component system consisting of:

·         Side-A: Polyol component (no pre-mixing required)

·         Side-B: Isocyanate component (requires pre-mixing)

The system is mixed in a 7:1 volume ratio (A:B). No primer is indicated for use with this product. No base or topcoat is applied in this system; the product functions as a direct joint filler/repair compound.

Applications:

Poly-Caulk HM is suitable for a variety of demanding environments including:

·         Airports

·         Bridge headers

·         Cold storage and freezer floors

·         Industrial and manufacturing facilities

·         Parking garage decks

·         Truck aprons

·         Warehouses

·         Wastewater treatment plants

Its flexibility and USDA compliance make it suitable for applications where thermal movement and hygiene are concerns.

Application Details:

·         Surface Prep: Concrete must be fully cured (28 days), clean, and dry. Joints should be saw-cut to ACI standards, with no V-grooving or feather edges.

·         Mixing: Mix Side-B first, then add Side-A. Mix for at least 5 minutes using a mechanical mixer at low speed. Avoid introducing air to prevent pinholes or reduced pot life.

·         Application Temperature: Apply between 32°F (0°C) and 135°F (57°C). Product should be conditioned to 75–80°F (24–27°C) prior to mixing and application.

·         Finishing: Ready for traffic in 4–5 hours, depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Excess material can be cut flush with grade.

Special Notes:

·         UV Exposure: Discoloration may occur when exposed to UV light, but this does not impact physical properties.

·         Pot Life / Gel Time: 4–5 minutes at 75°F (24°C)

·         Curing Time: Ready for traffic in 4–5 hours. Full cure time is not explicitly noted but expected to be similar to set time under optimal conditions.

·         Temperature Storage Range: Store at 60–95°F (15–35°C).

·         Shelf Life: 1 year in unopened containers.

·         Environmental Limits: Do not apply in joints subject to thermal cycling (e.g., expansion joints).

·         Packaging: 1-gallon kits – Side-A (0.875 gal) and Side-B (0.125 gal)

·         Coverage and Thickness: No specific coverage per gallon or thickness in mils/inches is given; as a joint filler, usage is typically volumetric and job-specific.

Limitations:

·         Do not dilute.

·         Not for use in moving cracks, construction joints, or control joints subject to thermal cycling.

·         Contains isocyanates and curatives – handle with appropriate PPE.
