Material Use:
Poly-Caulk PX27GG – High Solids, Non-Sag, Gun Grade Polyurethane Joint Sealant
Poly-Caulk PX27GG is a two-component polyurethane sealant designed for interior and exterior horizontal concrete surfaces. It is particularly used for sealing and repairing control joints, random cracks, saw cuts, spalls, and T-joints. The material is suited for environments with limited downtime, such as airports, bridge headers, truck aprons, parking garages, and industrial or manufacturing floors.
System Components:
· Side-A (0.375 gallons) and Side-B (1.125 gallons) mixed in a 1A:3B volume ratio.
· Primer: Polyprime 2180 or Polyprime EBF-LV is required for all surfaces prior to application.
· Backer rod should be used in control joints (maximum depth: 25% of slab depth). Construction joints are to be filled without a backer rod.
Applications:
This product is used for:
· Sealing control and construction joints.
· Repairing random cracks and spalls.
· Sealing saw/utility cuts and truck aprons.
· Joints in areas subject to temperature fluctuations and heavy traffic.
Application Details:
· Mixing: Pre-mix Side-B; then mix Side-A into Side-B using a mechanical mixer for at least 5 minutes. Avoid whipping air into the mix.
· Application Tools: Caulking gun, hand pressure applicator, or poured directly.
· Temperature Limits: Apply between 40°F (4.4°C) and 135°F (57°C). Product should be conditioned to 75–80°F (24–27°C) prior to application.
· Pot Life: 25 ± 5 minutes at 75°F (24°C), 50% RH.
· Tack-Free Time: 12–24 hours.
· Cure Time: 36–48 hours before exposure to traffic.
· Thickness & Coverage: Refer to detailed coverage table (page 1) based on joint width and depth; e.g., a 1/2" x 1/2" joint yields ~77 linear feet per gallon. No backer rod is needed in construction joints; random crack repairs require a minimum 2" depth.
Special Notes:
· UV Resistance: Not UV-stable – discoloration will occur under UV exposure, though physical properties remain unchanged.
· Shelf Life: 1 year in factory-sealed containers when stored at 60–95°F (15–35°C).
· Chemical Warning: Contains isocyanates and curatives – proper safety procedures are required.
· Waste Disposal: Mixed and cured product can be disposed of without restrictions; check regulations for uncured components.
